Got my 10 year valid green card mailed to my house yesterday. :) I am happy that the whole process has finally finished. I believe all others who got their approval letter will be getting their green card soon. :):)

Approval of Green card, NOA Date Nov. 17, 2016!!! Woohoo! now on to N-400 and citizenship for my wife! Thanks to all for the support! Hopefully more to come!

After over a year of filing the I-751 my husband received the letter of approval. We were not asked to interview as we provided as much information as possible. No immigration officers at our house. F

Yes this lack of RFE'S, interviews not turning up in the mail is kind of worrying and unprofessional, hence me signing up for USPS informed delivery, I see a post below that someone is getting something in the mail and they don't know what it is or when it was sent out.

 

I was never a CSC filer. I do remember however when I sent my package, Vermont were the slow ones and California were taking around 6 months. 

 

And yes you are correct my GC was stolen last Christmas/January just before I was due to file for ROC.  I was in England at the time, so had to go to the London Embassy and pay HUGE amounts for one letter to board an aircraft. 

 

I am ok, I am due to go to England in November for a couple of months for Christmas and New Year and graduations and family birthdays etc. I have no doubt that whilst i am away I will get an rfe or an interview or such, but I will either get my husband deal with any info they need or rearrange the interview. At least this time I can't get my GC stolen like last time. Then not long after I come back I am applying for my N400, I just want the whole immigration journey finished with, so I concentrate on my family and life in general! Thanks for asking that was very sweet of you! :)

You are welcome dear Shell. Don't you worry enjoy your vacation and have fun with your family and friends. Who knows your husband will call you and say I got the approval letter :) That is going to make your vacation sweeter. The good thing for you is that you are a VSC applicant and honestly speaking they are approving November-2016 applicants so you are lucky not to be a CSC filer lollzzzz. In few months you would be approved, unlike CSC applicants who are in for a long ride :wacko: Sorry to know that your GC was stolen oh my GOD you are done with that. If it is stolen again don't worry you will get the new 10 year GC in 2 to 3 months lollzzzz. Just kidding put your GC in the safest pocket of your bag and hold the bag closer to you..right :) and say Hi to your hubby. Have a great day and weekend. You are in my prayers. Regards

Aww thanks, although you know California were racing ahead this time last year, so its subject to change, wouldn't surprise me if they reverse and Vermont become the slow ones once more.  California has to play catch up sooner or later because if they don't it will end up with a 5 year wait and that wouldn't be good as a business model. I did read that someone  applied for n400 only a couple of months ago to speed up the process and in that particular case it worked.  I am aware though that not everyone can apply for the N400 which  is sad. Any way good luck with your application,  I am hoping California speed the process up quite a bit and ROC is processed in a timely manner for both service centres

The online N-400 filing is pretty robust and I wonder if it is for everyone who is eligible to file for naturalization. I would be eligible for naturalization in few months and I would absolutely file it with pending I-751. Some VJ users who filed online for N-400 reported that it took them under 4 months to get the citizenship. This is excellent. Thanks

Well at least they are dealing with your case.  RFE's are a pain, hoping i don't get one,  but I know I will.   The only positive thing I can say with your RFE is someone is actually looking at your case and once you send it back then you should soon get your approval! Good luck.

F-1 Visa: Academic years 2007/2010.

K-1 Visa: I-129F sent Aug 2013; Approved Jan 2014.

Green Card: AOS sent Feb 2014; Approved Jan 2015.

Removal of Conditions: I-751 sent Nov 2016; Approved Apr 2018.

US Citizenship: Application sent Nov 2017; Fingerprints Nov 2017; Civics/English exam March 2018; Oath May 2018.

Hi everyone,

 

I'm new to Visa Journey. Thank you for sharing your stories and experience; it's good to know that I'm not going through this i751 process alone.

Here is some info about myself, and I'd like to ask for your inputs:

  • I'm a November 2016 filer (11/11/2016), got my biometrics done on 12/23/2016. However, since then, I have not heard anything from the USCIS. Nothing at all.
  • I'm eligible to file for N-400 this coming 10/31/17. Should I go ahead and file it while my i-751 is sill pending? From what I read on here, seems like some agree and some advise to wait. Is there any major things I need to be aware of before filing i-400?
  • In addition, I saw people mentioned the "I-400 and I-751 Combo". Can anyone please explain to me what that is? I'd really appreciate it.
