Has anyone here reached out to a representative to get this moving? The waiting times are ridiculous.

I travel frequently outside the country and the additional hassle (check-in and customs) is making me very impatient (read - irritated) on this not moving any faster. At this point we wont see our case processing until 2018.

I fear there is nothing we can do to speed the process up. We will have to get the stamp in passport after NOA expires as well, and then apply for naturalization when time comes, and wait for both apps to be approved at the same time.

it's frustrating this happened to us, since when we applied in Nov 2016, CSC was at 7 months processing time. It seems to me they want to dump the back log on the field offices. so they can review ROC together with naturalization.

Somebody in a thread for Aug 2016 filers was saying USCIS are reporting 18-24 months for ROC. that is insane :(

It seems my original change of address did not get in. I am expecting a call but submitted another one.

I recommend making an infopass appointment and changing your address with an officer. that's the only way it worked for me. I have submitted 2 requests online and I never heard back on those for over a month.

What is IF1 status ? I got my CPR based on marriage to us citizen and file to remove CPR on November 2016. I read They are still processing application in June 2016

From what I can find online, IF1 is status of alien who entered US as fiance(e). So I guess it's most of us in that category.

If one of November 2016 filers already got approval, does that means ours are being processed ? In the website it still shows they are processing application for June filers.

I thought we can only apply for naturalization after being married for 3 years upon receiving permanent resident card

No, it does not. The person that was approved received the interview letter in March, which means someone was working on their file back then. Most definitely an exception, and not a sign anyone is working on November filers.

There seems to be some confusion. If marriage based, you can apply for citizenship 3 years after becoming a resident of the US of A, independently of whether your initial status was conditional or permanent. In order for your citizenship application to be approved, you need to be a permanent resident, and that is why, if it hasn't been approved prior to filing for N400, it will most likely either be approved before your N400 or concurrently.

I was hoping for that too. We're also nearly 3 hours from the nearest USCIS office, it would be a real pain to have to go down there. And I am currently pregnant and due in late November, my extension is up around December 8th. I don't want the aggravation of it!

Fingers crossed.

As long as you are not leaving the country and/or you don't need to prove your permanent residency status for anything such as job change/mortgage approval/etc., you don't really need to get an extension. You are and you will be in status pending your ROC application.

So that doesn't even change when the extension expires? I'm not planning on leaving the country until the middle of next year, so if I don't need to I won't! I think my husband is just worried that when it expires, it will cause issues with my schooling.

It will not cause any issues. You are simply pending a decision, and therefore, still "in status".

It's a pain, I know, but I do quite a lot of travel, and even with the application pending, it has never been an issue. Hopefully we won't have to worry about extension letters. Either way, focus on the great things in life, such as that little bundle of joy coming at the end of November, now that's something to look forward to!
