Hi, getting ready to file petition to bring my fiance from england, and as i understand from this site the support documents are better not filed with the initial petition

My real question is that i am monetarily pretty poor, haven't filed taxes for several years, and my only real possession is 30 acres in VA where i live and am building gardens and a healing center

I have met a wonderful woman who lives in England, can easily support herself, and for some reason i don't understand, but am grateful for(some might call it love, fate, karma), has decided to sell her house and come here to live with me. We are totally together in our habits and beliefs, and i have no doubt we can make a wonderful life together

she has visited my land, living my primitive lifestyle for a month, and i recently returned from living with her for ten weeks

like i said, she can easily support herself, but my assets would never pass muster(although i would never take government aid), how much of a hassle is this going to be and what hoops will we have to jump through when she goes for the interview?

probably never get a k1 visa for her unless you can get someone to co-sponsor for you.dont aplly for gov assis,,that would kill youre chances,,if no co-sponsor you would probably have to get married first then apply for the marriage visa,,good luck

I'm really looking for comments from someone with direct experience--obviously an alien with no personal wealth is not a candidate without support here, but this woman can easily finance both her, her daughter and me, what is the difference if the money is in my account or hers?

to them it will make a difference, as the rules state you must make 125% of the poverty limit for the household of your size to be able to bring her. Your option really is to get a co-sponsor, because even being married you still need to prove that income, they are picky on that one. If you have someone who makes above the limit for your household size and is willing to co-sponsor, it doesnt matter how much you make, but as far as I know its the only way this would work.

i want to thank you for your inputs, i didn't want to state amounts, but if she was moving here with say several hundred thousand dollars do you think the support issue from my end might be waived? i have land and gardens that i own free and clear worth about 100k$, as well as some minimal income, but as far as making 20k$ a year, i just don't have it, my mother's retired and my brother's getting out of the construction business(we all know what housing starts have been like recently) and i would really like to find someone who has had to negotiate this challenge without the use of a cosponsor --oh, i believe the 125% rule applies to the 834, the 134 is just 100% of poverty, 134 is filed with k1, 834 filed after marriage for conditional residence

thanks alot for the guidance, at this point i really don't see a way to get a cosponsor, so will post a question under a separate topic as you suggest, i know beaurocracy often runs against common sense, so while we may not like the bad news, at least we are prepared more for an uphill journey--maybe someone else has already made this trip and smoothed the way a bit if we can find the right approach

Estadia,

you dont know me, but someone mentioned your name on another thread regarding waiting a long time/calling your congressman. I had to look you up and see how long you've been waiting. I am amazed!! my heart goes out to you having to deal with this ordeal for as long as you have. i didnt go thru all the prior posts, i just looked at your timeline...i dont have my NOA2 either and i havent waited as long as you, but i wish there was something i could do to get you yours, even if it meant you getting it b4 i get mine [ and you should- you've been waiting longer ] if there was a petition going around to get it for you, i would sign it. i dont have any advice for you [ i think you already called your senator/congressman ] that you probably havent already tried...but i will say a prayer that you get your approval soon. Good Luck and take care.

Unfortunately this is where the long wait begins. As long as you have a receipt number, you should be on track.

We never got a NOA1 either, but our petition was approved a few weeks ago and now we are waiting for an interview. I filed at VSC also in August of last year. It seems never ending, but it'll come through. Stay positive.

We had our K-1 visa interview here in Paris yesterday. It went really well, but the agent didn't say definitely yes or no! I don't get it... it seems like everyone else got their answer during the interview!

The first person, who took all the papers and arranged the file, was very friendly and said everything was in order and looked fine. She even took our wedding invitation and said how lovely it was! Then we had the interview and that was quick and straightforward (we'll write a review later). She seemed happy with all the answers and the papers. At the end she said, "normally it is all fine... everything looks good. So unless there is some other issue with the file or with the consul, it should be ok." Does that mean someone else still has to look at it?

When R asked if that meant he could go ahead and buy his plane tickets, she kind of laughed like "you're in a hurry!" and said it would be better to wait until we have it in hand (of course)... so we were wondering if there is still some chance they would reject it? or if they just prefer to not risk giving you the wrong answer? She kept his passport and envelope and said we should receive the passport in the mail next week/within ten days, and at the end she smiled and said "Congratulations!" but we left still not sure if we should start celebrating or not!

Anyone have any experience/advice?

thank you for ur kind words.

there was talk of a petition but the problem is none of us really know how to do it so we are all praying and hoping.

it gives me strength when i see others get their noa2 and makes me feel like at least the system can work

thank you for ur prayers

my prayers are that no one ever has to wait as long as we have.

Why did you put me in this subforum? I am with K-3 visa not K-1

Please can anyone help me with my case....well my wife just receive the NOA1 and while preparing the I-129f we noticed that we didnt add 4 copies of the G-325A form in the previous I-130.....which of course we found out while looking for the I-129F process.

1) Do we need to send the four (4) copies with note on it, or doesnt it really matter?

2) On the G-325A form, where it says "This form is submitted in connection with an Application for; Please can i put K-3 or still I-129F?

3) When we receive the NOA1 my name was spelled wrongly, my wife called immediately and they said she'll receive a notice in 45days. Can we go ahead to send the I-129F or wait for the notice because im confuse maybe the notice will include another Receipt Number.

Can one fill the G-325A online, print it, sign and then scan and send it to other half for submission or do i need to send the hard copy itself via courier services which i know it will take days...

This is urgent, any assistant pls

Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I am just starting this process. My boyfriend, Sherif, is in Egypt and I am in Hawaii. I am going to Egypt in Jan, and we will be getting engaged!!! What do I need to set in place before I go there? Has anyone here started this with a lawyer or on your own? If with a lawyer any recomendations? When I hear people talk about' We got OUR interview" does this mean I have to go back to Egypt for this? I feel so overwhelmed by all the stories and papers!!!! The police certificate? Not sure what this means..and someone posted it is not available in Egypt..LOL, all the abreveations are like a code I dont know yet!!! Where do I start?? I welcome any advice and especially American- Egypt...I am so glad I have found this site. I really need all of your support!!
