I don't even have a problem with their organs being used to save people.

I do.

People sentenced to death are generally guilty of committing a sadistic premeditated murder. There was a guy who kidnapped, sexually assaulted, then murdered a young girl a few years ago. I'm all for human rights and justice but someone who does something like that no longer deserves those rights. That guy could be carved open for organ harvest while he's still alive for all I care.

maybe true in some countries, but i do not believe in china, where political oppression is rampant and a state crime

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Exactly. You get sentenced to death for much less than sadistic acts in China. To add insult to injury, so to speak, folks actually seem to be sentenced to become spare parts. Next thing you know, the Chinese gov't going out willy-nilly sentencing people to death to balance the budget. Hell no!

I have a problem when 'death penalty' might be the appropriate punishment for what we'd call 'demonstrating.' (As well as a larger argument that structuring the incentives for the death penalty this way probably leads to more unjustified death penalty convictions.) China's got a lot going for it, but not in the area of human rights.

Despite what they say does anyone really believe the only place organs are harvested is from executed prisoners? Stories of the 'disappeared' in South America have been doing on for 20+ years (probably more but I didn't pay attention before then). I doubt there's less of a black market for them in other areas.

Sad.

Sad.

If there's a criminal organization going around snatching people for their organs that's certainly bad enough. But when a government does this and other governments seem complicit (the importing nations) then it's just so much more wrong.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Within the last few years, a man in China was executed for embezzlement. In another case, a man bought some dynamite from a construction supplier, and used it in a murder. The owner of the construction company was arrested and executed.
