I have a question about the CFO for my fiance. We recently filed our K1 visa petition last August 19,2016 and still yet to have our NOA 2. My question is, is it possible for her to go ahead and do her CFO while we are waiting for the approval? She has her passport and other supporting documents. Or do they need an interview date first and a case number so she can attend the seminar. Thank you for all of your help and feedback.

We are in the same position so to say. We have our NOA2 and NVC received the case. We are just waiting on a case number.

I believe, from what I have read that they need to case number; but do not quote me on that.

I am having my partner go do the CFO after we get the case number before the interview. They can go before hand, they just have to go back after the interview to show them the K-1 visa in their passport so they get the "stamp" and "Certificate" or what not to show immigrations upon exiting the country.

I would atleast wait until you have the NOA2 and maybe even NVC gets the case. I don't know how long it is good for, or if it expires even so. But it is good to plan a head like we are trying to do also.

Maybe this will be of some help also : http://www.mrspresson.com/immigration/k1-fiancee-visa-process/cfo-seminar-philippines/

Thanks for the reply. You guys are ahead of us. We too are a same sex couple so I wish us all good luck on the interview and I hope it all goes smoothly. We will research more about CFO but just wanted to get it out of the way while we are waiting to relieve some nerves. :) this waiting process is no joke specially when it involves the love of your life.

Your fiance can go to CFO anytime and and attend seminar.it d0nt need any case number or anything fron NVC.

And the CFO will give your fiance a certificate after the seminar, its not the sticker yet. Once your fiance already get the visa, he can go back to CFO for the sticker. :)

There are certain requirements tho to attend the seminar.

Goodluck

Haha yea waiting is definately the hardest part. Hopefully it's quick for you two like it has been so far for us.

And I see you're in Spring, Tx.

I'm in the outskirts of Houston(right near the Katy city limits).

Hey...why not get the CFO seminar out of the way...then you can check one more thing off of your list. It's easy to go get the sticker attached to your passport once you have your visa. Good luck on your visa journey.

Is there an expiration for this? My mom's visa is expiring in 6 months. Can we do this as early as possible?

No expiration regarding CFO, once you complete the seminar and have the certificate it is good indefinitely.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!
