paternity for k-1 fiance

I understand your situation as I am in the same situation with my fiancee and our child. Looking at some of the answers looks like it can be a toss up on if they ask for a paternity test. My fiancee and I decided that we will just do a paternity test so if they have concerns about it at the interview i can just hand over the results. Good luck.

Noooooo dont.....my dna test had to be done at an approved facility by the embassy. They will give you a list in the states and in the country your fiancee or spouse resides.

I have obtained the list of approved places that are able to do such test. As fiancee and son is in Oregon they will have there collection at the American red cross which is certified to do the test and I will go to embassy in Dhaka to have my collection done for this test.

Yes, I read that. I am trying to be proactive in the process so that we are hit with unexpected things.

I wouldnt stress over it....it will be an issue if they have doubt being that morrocos is such a tough embassy having a child out of wedlock may be a bigger concern i would think to them investigating since i dont think thats a cultural norm for them

Her fiance is from Bengladesh not Morocco.

I am going to go out on a limb because I have already thought about this. I am due in April...My fiance has not had an interview yet. I am sure at the AOS interview they are going to want DNA. If I am correct at least here in Jersey (not sure about other states) but just because you put someone on the birth certificate does not mean they are the "father". Anyone can be put on a birth certificate. I guess it is just a way of keeping people from committing fraud who are looking to commit fraud by using children. Do you have to pay for it yourself though?

Well ain't that some real ish lol I guess I am still trying to figure out really if the USC had a baby why really they have to have a DNA test. I mean I KNOW WHY they have to have one but if someone' fiance wants to take on the responsibility as the father what does immigration care. It is not like it will get the immigrant full blown benefits in the country. hmm Well come time for the AOS i will be dealing with the same thing I am sure of it. They can't get DNA until the baby is born so. =)

Because of the proof of bonafide of the relationship. Just like people ask the question about having kids during the process if the CO will believe they are real.

Or how about people who have had children during the process with others (someone had an affair) but they act like its there's. I have seen that too many times babies conceived during the process.

It happens you can't take it personal and yes people still do traffick children. The US is like #1 in child trafficking. So USCIS is just checking things out,

As Dwheels 76 mentioned, it is a proof of bonafide relationship if they ask for DNA evidence. Also culturally, it is rare, almost unheard of having a baby before getting married in Bangladesh. I am not saying it doesn't happen but it is extremely rare. US Embassy in Dhaka knows about local custom. That could be another reason if they ask about it. I have seen about couples who have been married for years in Bangladesh asked for DNA test even though the child was a US citizen. If they ask just comply. Do not get offended. You can't gain anything by getting offended.

Offended? Why? If they require it, just comply. I'm sure you can understand that some are less than truthful. Getting a visa is a privilege not a right.

Personally, we had to jump through alot of hoops, but I know it had to be done. Not much room for pride in this journey.

Good Luck!
