Glad to see that I am not the only one having issues with the NVC:

Called the NVC service center this morning. Surprisingly got a live agent within 30seconds. She stated my case was sent out yesterday (12/12) to the embassy and gave me my NVC case number. To give you an idea of processing times: my NOA2 date was Nov. 9th. Checking my NVC status, it now states In Transit.

Steps Before Citizenship:

09/24/2016 - I-129F Packet Submitted, 09/26/2016 - NOA1, 10/27/2016 - RFE Received

11/02/2016 - RFE Reply sent

11/09/2016 - NOA2

11/21/2016 - NVC Receives packet

12/12/2016 - Case left NVC for BKK Consulate

01/10/2017 - After travelling via the slowest route possible (likely via carrier pigeon) BKK Consulate receives packet

01/16/2017 - Packet 3 Instructions received 02/28/2017 - Packet 3 Instructions Completed

03/05/2017 - Packet 4 received (now the fun begins) --> 03/29/2017 - Interview disappears from the schedule on the embassy website -->03/30/2017 - She goes to her interview, is told they need to verify her documents since she is Vietnamese interviewing in Thailand, receives a 221G with 'Verification of Viet documents' as the reason. Gave back her passport.-->03/31/2017-04/04/2017 - Case is being continuously touched. We suspect that our case was approved at this point but they didn't have her passport. --> 04/10/2017 (10 days after interview) - Email emabssy to inquire about updates and if there was anything we could do to move things forward. (3h later) - She is told that she is approved and to expect her passport soon (how when they don't have it in their posession?) After clarification, instructed to send our passport to them. Ship out passport in a rush to beat Songkran (which failed) --> 04/11/2017 - Passport at embassy according to Thai Post Office --> 04/17/2017 - Emailed to confirm they received the passport. They issued an evasive answer about Songkran backlog (they love evasive non-committal answers)--> 04/24/2017  Evening - Case changes from Immigrant Visa to Non-Immigrant Visa and a new case created date is given --? 04/25/2017 morning  (less than 12h later) - Case flies through Ready -->Admin Processing --> Issued

04/26/2017 - Checks mail, passport is there. No mention of it being mailed out. 

05/02/2017 - Arrives in the USA, without Issue

06/17/2017 - Marriage!

7/01/17- Mailed AOS packet to Chicago

7/03/17- Packet received

07/07/17 - SMS and Email notification of NOA1 for AoS, EAD, and AP

07/13/17 - Received paper copies of NOA1 for AoS, EAD, and AP

Just spoke to an NVC supervisor and they told me that they are super backed up and my case is not in AP. Why would people lie to me. This is horrible. They act as if I am being crazy simply because I want the truth. WOW. I feel like I am losing my mind. I will be patient, I have no choice, but it is very disappointing to know that my own country, or people that are working and representing my country are so comfortable with lying to me.

I'm sorry your case is still at the NVC. I wonder why they're so backed up.

We officially were assigned our interview date (January 31) and it's the day after I arrive to visit my fiance. Totally unplanned but hopefully we will have something to celebrate when I am there! Yay!

01/31/17.... K1 Visa Approved

02/03/17.... K1 Visa Received in Hand

06/05/17....Arrived in the USA (LAX)

06/24/17....Married on Cape Cod <3

 

07/10/17....Sent AOS package (I-485, I-131, I-765)

07/17/17.... AOS notice date for NOA1 (I-485, I-131, I-765)

07/21/17.... Received mailed hardcopies of NOA1s

07/29/17.... Biometrics Notice received in mail 

08/01/17.... Biometrics Appointment AOS - complete (walked in)

08/07/17.... Biometrics Appointment EAD - complete (walked in)

10/23/17.... EAD/AP card delivered to house YAY!

This thread is kind of slow at the moment. I guess most people are waiting for their interviews and collecting documents. Hope everyone is having a nice December so far and that your interviews go smoothly! ☺

Our NOA2 was approved Nov 17. I called the NVC today for the very first time. Called at 10:15pm EST. On hold for 30 minutes and call was dropped/disconnected. Several deep breaths. Called again and got thru after 40 minutes of being on hold. Nice lady took my USCIS receipt number and said my case "was received today and it takes about 2 weeks to enter all the information into their system. Call back on 12/26 - actually we may be closed on that day so call back on 12/27". Hope this info helps others

You can call them again today the 2 weeks spiel is not true i got mine after 2 days just because i dint call them right away.. call them you might get your case nunber today.

Did you guys receive the NOA2 approval notice in the mail yet? I haven't, so I called the NVC this morning and some gal tells me that they don't send an approval notice out for Fiancee visas. Is that true?

My case status is "ready". Does the Embassy schedule the interview date and tell us when to show up, or can we choose the date?

K1 visa

21 January 2016: I-129F received date

25 January 2016: NOA1

10 November 2016: NOA2 (only 294 days!)

14 December 2016: Consulate received

You'll need to go to www.ustraveldocs.com and choose your country and register a logon. You'll need your NVC case number to do that and then you can schedule it yourself. You'll have to pay the visa fees also.
