Got this same notice too. In L.A.

My wife recently had her infopass interview to get a proof of legal status (e.g. I-94) since her extension letter expired long long long ago.

Thanks, you mean conditional green card status of your wife?

Thanks, I was already approved on 4/26, but my husband passed 3 days after the 400 interview which complicated the whole process. My green card production might be put on hold because they approved my 400 probably by mistake. Due to the passing of my husband, I am supposed to lose my citizenship eligibility by law, so I will probably lose my eligibility at the ceremony, and they will resume the production of my green card upon my 751 approval. Complicated and frustrating.

Hi all, I'm a bit confused. So last week we got the email status change about my husband's Sep 16 filing for I-751. Today we received a paper letter (text below). I'm a little surprised to see his case transferred to speed up processing because we also have a concurrent N-400 for which we're currently waiting to be assigned an interview date and I assumed they were holding a decision on the I-751 until the N400 interview day. That seems to have been the case for most others applying for both at the same time. I guess they might now be planning to review I-751 separately? This also seems to be a slightly different mailing than others got.

That office will notify you in writing when they make a decision on your case or if they need additional information.

You are not alone. I also got transfer letters (see signature below) lately. I assumed my case would be sent to my local field office for ROC and N400 combined interview also. Not the case. I also got the snail mail telling me about the transfer to NBC from POTOMAC.
I have read that some people are getting approvals quite quickly from NBC, but nothing set in stone.
My N-400 has been scheduled and still got transferred.
I honestly think this is to satisfy the ombudsman who are looking into the USCIS timings, so USCIS can say that things are being done to move along these cases who have been pending over the length of time  that is really required. It's just making USCIS look like they are doing something.

Hang tight. Good things come to those who wait!

Thank you so much @Ozgirl1981! I appreciate the solidarity!

I think you are right about it being a way to speed up those of us who have been languishing for 20 months now for these ROCs. I called USCIS today and my husband did as well (he's traveling right now so they could only tell me some general knowledge stuff, so he called to speak about our case specifically). They told us that based on our case date that we're at the very end of the projected timeframe so now that it has transferred to NBC we should be hearing something soon. We ended up having to call in today and update our address. We moved in February but for some reason only our N400 updated address. This I-751 was forwarded from our old address. Now that is updated but doesn't sound like it should delay any I-751 stuff so that's good.

Another thing they told us is that the I-751 requires an interview except in the cases where the adjudicator feels they have enough info to approve without one, so I'm curious what's going to happen with ours. I'd think they'd ask for an interview just by nature of it being so long ago we filed, but I don't know. It sounds like others on this thread have been getting approval without the interview. And if we do get an interview, I wonder if we will have to go do that one and then wait and do a separate N400 interview at a later date when the local field office is finally ready to process August 2017 filers.

I think the reason we are seeing movement on the I-751 separately from the N400 is probably because our N400 field office is so slow and isn't ready to schedule us for an interview yet. It seems many people have had N400 and I751 interviews at the same time, but that's because their citizenship interviews came up so quickly and I-751s were taking so long.

@BFP XX, have you had any news on your green card? I got a weird "receipt notice" of sorts after I submitted my service inquiry for not hearing anything. They gave me a generic boilerplate letter about their customer service number and the existence of their website, then behind that they stapled the original copy of my letter to them, behind that letter was a cut-out of the front of the envelope I sent my green card package in. Weird, huh? I guess it was their way of using sign language to say "we have it, jeez"...

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

"In order to speed up processing, we transferred the application or petition listed above to the following USCIS office for processing:

NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER, PO Box 648005, Lee's Summit, MO

That office will notify you in writing when they make a decision on your case or if they need additional information.

If any of the above information is incorrect or you have questions about the status of your case, please call the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 or visit the USCIS website. Processing time - Processing times vary by case type. Go to www.uscis.gov to see the current processing times listed by case and office."

I got this update after my 751 approval. I think my situation proves that these updates really don't mean much and they're just some kind of updates in the system or they created false hope to calm down 751 applicants who have been waiting for a long time.

We are very sorry for your loss , prayers for the family.  Hope everything will work out for you.  I don't understand you losing your eligibility in this way though.  Hope USCIS will take your case into consideration.

Thank you for your condolences. It is just the law. The INA says that very clearly unless they have decided to override it which I think it is highly unlikely, but the mystery is they did approve my 400 and scheduled the oath, maybe it is a mistake, or in my widest fantasy, they decided to naturalize me anyway with discretion. I will find out next Wed. Good luck to you too.

@Zombie69Do you know if you received that transfer notice about the I-751 very near the time you got the approval? Sometimes it seems USCIS's wires get crossed and they send out mail right before a change in their system. I hope it's not false hope anyway and this does actually mean our application might get looked at soon.

I got the approval notice and the letter on 4/30. On May 7 and May 8, I got two updates saying my case has been transferred to another office and my case has been transferred to a new office that has jurisdiction over my case. I got the oath ceremony letter notice on May 2, so they had to have approved my 751 before the scheduled my oath. It doesn't make any sense, I believe I have not talked to anyone who has been 751 approved in late April and getting more updates after that, that worries me a little bit, but many of us who are  400/751 pending are getting identical updates. The officers told me they could be errors and they told me since I have the approval letter and there's nothing I have to worry about. It is a mess. I am supposed to be 400 rejected due to the passing of my husband, but they scheduled my oath and I am ordered to go next week, so we will see what happens. It is a mess, I am tired of living in uncertainty. I can't even enjoy the approval and have to wonder what these two updates mean.
