I have a receipt notice coming to me in the mail acknowledging my I-90 application. I'll be getting a biometrics notice soonish. Since I submitted it online, I'll sit back and wait out the 12 months and hope to God they don't screw up the next card or I may just give up on it.

My SR is with an officer as of yesterday but I'm sure they will provide the same response as above.

It's so frustrating. You never know, when the officer sees that it's a USCIS error, maybe they are able to expedite the online ones too? I hope so. A year is ridiculous.

When you file the I 90 online, do you still have to return the green card you received?

On 4/7/2018 at 8:46 PM, BFP XX said:

Please see previous posts - I submitted a Typographical Error through my DHS account, and received notification that I will get a response by 04/28/18. Another person went ahead and submitted an I-90 form online for a replacement card. I made the decision to hold off on that, although the response I receive at the end of April may just tell me to submit an I-90 anyway. I don't know - I've heard that the processing time for I-90 is 12 months - So I am anxious as I think we could be without a GC for another year - I don't know this for sure, just what I've read. It's less than ideal - I'm really annoyed. Mainly for having to renew my DL every six months, and get six month stamps at a time from my local office which is 90 minutes away, and carry my passport with me - It's a pain.

Thank you so much for the information!

Thank you so much for the information!

Don't actually know. There was no indication that I'd have to, though I know with paper filing it is a requirement. Guess I will find out later down the line!

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered

October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I'm not sure about that at all... Most people received cards with the 2014 date, only a few of us received them with the 2018 date. I don't think it matters that the original PR date was conditional, we were still all made PR's in 2014. From what I've read online, it should read the 2014 date, and is an error that needs fixing, for it to be correct, and for it to not cause any issues at citizenship time. But I did place a SR and will hear back by the end of April, so I'll let you know what they tell me.

Mine is unfortunately 3/5/18 too so annoying and my friend who is an aug 2016 filer had 2014 in hers 😒 so annoying!!!!!!! I think ill just leave it that way. If i file for citizenship i have my old gc and letters anyway to prove that its wrong

I read somewhere that they will request it at least before issuing the new one... But I don't know how accurate that is.

My concern is using the card with the error. I imagine using it with an incorrect name or DoB would be a definite no, but Resident Since date, I'm not so sure. I've read things that say not to use it at all with any errors, as it will cause issues later down the line with Citizenship, but again, I don't know if that's true. I'm airing on the side of caution, and not using it. I'll continue with the stamp until I get it sorted.

The USCIS Response to my SR made on 04/06/2018 about incorrect "Resident Since" date

Type of service requested:
 -- Typographical Error

What You Can Do
If you believe that the error was due to our administrative mistake, you may wish to submit a new original Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, but without a filing fee in order to receive a PRC with corrected information.

You may request the processing of the application to be "Expedited." All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are granted at the discretion of the Director.

Please follow these steps when filing your new original Form I-90 application:

* File a new completed and signed Form I-90 application. You can obtain the form on our Website at www.uscis.gov/forms;
* Mark box "D" on Part 2, Application Type in the Form I-90 application;
* Attach a short note requesting "Expedited Processing Due to USCIS Error." Also indicate the
incorrect information;
* Write "Expedited Processing Due to USCIS Error" across the top of the Form I-90 application; and
* Return the PRC with the incorrect information.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

The biometrics fee will not be refunded.

USCIS is continuing to process your application, petition, or request. USCIS will contact you in writing if any additional information is necessary to resolve your case.

This notice is not an approval of your pending application, petition, or request. If you have any questions or comments regarding this notice or the status of your case, please contact the NCSC toll free at 1-800-375-5283. If you are hearing impaired, please call the NCSC TDD at 1-800-767-1833.

HI guys,

I got Today a second green card. Last Friday 3-30-2018, I received the first one. I guess another mistake from USCIS.

Hey, because you are the only one who received two cards, I am just wondering about your Date of Resident since on both cards.  Thanks.

Hey, because you are the only one who received two cards, I am just wondering about your Date of Resident since on both cards.  Thanks.

The first green card has all information fine. So, my date "Resident Since:"  is 12/19/14. On the second one, the "Resident Since:" is 03/08/18.

Another difference that I notice is that the first green card has in the back part in the first line the number (WACXXXX..) of my appointment for the Biometrics while the second one has the number of my I-751 application.

I believe that I got a second green card because I found a typographical error on my mail address in my approval notice, and I called to the USCIS on 3-13-2018 to report it. On Thursday 3-29-2018, I got an asnwer  by mail from USCIS that they corrected the typo error on my address. Also, the letter says that my green card was in production. The next day I received the first green card. It did not have sense that I got it that day if it was in production the day before. Then, I got the second green card on 4/5/2018 with the typo error on the "Resident Since". It seems to me that the first card was ready when USCIS corrected the typo error in my address. Furthermore, the typo error came from "Laguna Niguel CA" (CSS)  while the green cards came from " 7 Product Way Lees Summin, MO 64002" where my mail address never changed. So, I reported one typo error and USCIS introduced a new one!!!!

After I called USCIS, I was instructed to make an Infopass to my local office to deliver one of the cards. Therefore, I have an Infopass on April 23st, 2018. However, I will go on a cruise next week. I will take both cards with me. I will use the first one and carry the second one just in case.

If it is K1 visa, then it is a non immigrant visa.

CR1/IR1

In that case, I think CR1/IR1 is an immigrant visa.
