Hello

I had my I interview on august 25th. After the interview the officer asked my wife to get her original copy of the birth certificate and siad she will review the documents we submitted aND if she needs more evidence we will receive a letter in the mail. It has being over a week now and still no response or online update. How long do you think we have to wait and should I be worry. The officer did not approve or deny the case.

Did you supply the original birth certificate yet? It is imperative and you wont get approved without it per the CO. Who has your passport, you or the consulate? It seems that you may not get any correspondence from them on this matter so it is my advice to not wait and get your documents and bring them back the sooner the better.

What was the date of your NOA2 approval.

Also PLEASE keep you timeline updated so members who try to assist knows exactly what step you are at etc. Also your and everyone elses timelines feed this sites statistics, the more info, the more accurate.

The officer didn't ask for us to mail the certificate. She said she will send us a mail if she needs more evidence. Should i mail the certificate or wait. The officer took my passport and made photocopies of it. But I still have my passport because she gave it back. Should I just walk to the immigration office and present the certificate? My interview date was august 25th 2016

My take is that the officer told you it is paramount that you provide the birth certificate to her.

She said she will will contact you if she wants additional evidence but she is waiting for what she asked for. She may not contact you at all especially if you dont follow his instruction. For me I or fiance would hand deliver it with the passport. What consulate did you interview at?

Since internal procedures can differ between countries and embassies, call AND email to ensure you are sure how they want to receive the document. Again consider hand delivering it and the passport.

If they made a copy of your passport is ok but its better that they keep it, but nonetheless they didnt deny you. Did they provide any documentation at all?

Finally and to repeat, dont wait and get it done as humanly possible.

The officer didn't ask for us to mail the certificate. She said she will send us a mail if she needs more evidence. But what to you think she wants you to do with it? She has to have it in her hand in one form or another so he can approve/inspect it and do her thing. Should i mail the certificate or wait. The officer took my passport and made photocopies of it. But I still have my passport because she gave it back. Should I just walk to the immigration office and present the certificate? My interview date was august 25th 2016

Ahh yeah they need original for AOS. Do you remember her name? Hand deliver it to the office. If you know her name that is best...once you submit evidence it's 60-90 days..happened to me so if won't be approved tomorrow...I was 60 days on the dot when I submitted what they needed so Dec 1 would be when u should start checking for status change online lol.

Hand deliver it, do not mail it unless you have been given an address to mail it to.

The IO should have given precise instructions on how to submit the birth certificate.

Ok...thank guys I will hand deliver the certificate first thing on Tuesday...I really don't remember her name and she didn't give us no specific instructions on how to go about presenting the certificate. I do remember how she looks so once I get there is will figure out how to best describe her.
