They seems to have paused! ... Hopefully we start here series of approvals after the holidays.

Still stuck between the USCIS sending my case to the NVC and the NVC actually getting my case. I call twice a week and still "We haven't got your case yet. It has only been 2 weeks since your case got approved. It can take up to 6 weeks, so in 4 weeks call us if you haven't received it yet".

Got most of my paperwork already, including employment letters, tax transcripts, and pay stubs (for both myself and the joint sponsor).

Hoping we will be received at the NVC this week or very soon.

Don't worry. It CAN take several weeks for NVC to get the case. Meanwhile you can make sure that you have everything that you need for the next stage.

Yes, it does seems like post elections, everything has slowed down for some reason.

Next three weeks would be slow in government with holidays and people taking time off, but I hope those who are working, process some approvals.

I've read the awesome wiki on the subject and it states to include tax income from sponsors (either just the last year or the last 3 years). I want to be thorough, but should I go forward and request my husbands last 3 years of statements from the IRS, or is the last year enough?

My in-laws are sponsoring me for citizenship as well, so I am I right to say that my Father-in-law would file a I-184 and my mother-in-law would file a I-184A? My father in law works, but my mother in law doesn't, but they file jointly.

Hello branjo! Based on the several NVC threads I have read, choosing between the last year or last three years depends on what kind of employment history you want the NVC to know. For instance, if there were employment gaps 2-3 years but stable income in the last year, then people often only send the last year's tax transcripts. If you have a consistent three years of record to show, that would be fine as well.

And that is correct--FIL files an I-864 and MIL files an I-864A.

Hello everyone!

After two weeks of limbo in trying to request my husband's tax transcripts (countless phone calls, address error, fax ineligibility, 1 month of waiting for the transcripts which haven't arrived yet), we are finally moving forward with sending our AOS and IV packet. It has been an incredibly stressful last two weeks for us! Somehow, having a foreign mailing address seemed to complicate and slow down our request. We just went ahead and included his federal individual income tax returns instead of waiting for the transcripts to arrive (it's been more than a month and it usually just takes two weeks to send them abroad).

Kudos to everyone already preparing diligently for their NVC packet---be as proactive as you can! I was so distraught about cramming all the requirements and wasting two whole weeks on the transcripts that when it was time to scribble our case number on the upper right hand corner of all our documents, I realized halfway that I had been dropping a letter all that time! I had to go over everything again to add a letter. :shocked:

For those who want to be all in and write their case numbers on all documents (I hear it's really not needed, but very handy since NVC sometimes loses documents around their building or something like that) I suggest you get a sticker made with your case number OR buy a stamp that can accommodate your case number. It was a grueling task having to write the case numbers on all 120 pages of our NVC packets! Gave me a huge headache. I truly wished I had a stamp with me. But oh well.
