Me and my girlfriend speak in chat during our 4 yr relationship, but in Spanish. What do I need to do in order to present it was proof, translate and take to a notary? Do I need to take anything and everything in Spanish to a notary?

I am in the U.S.A.

She is in Peru.

Additional questions: She has a child, father signed a paper from the notary in Peru stating the child can travel out of Peru. Of course it is in Spanish, does that need to be translated and resubmitted via a notary? Or just translated?

What additional information do I need to present for the child to come with my fiance? And is there an additional cost I need to pay along with the 340 USD?

No, as Spanish is the native language of Peru, the COs there will be able to read it. The only things that need translations are official documents such as birthcerts etc.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Have you actually met your girlfriend? They will also want proof of a bonafide relationship. Chat records will not be enough.

Met in and lived in beneficiary's country 2010-2012

Applied 2012-Approved K1 in 2013 (approx 8 months Noa1-approval)- decided to postpone marriage and live together in beneficiary's country before marriage.

Married 11/30/13 -lived together until filing

Filed for K3-04/06/2015

NVC case # 09/18/2015-case became CR1 (it's true what they say K3 is obsolete-don't even attempt it)

11/10/2015 Found out I had a checklist

11/18/2015 Scan date for information they needed after talking to someone over the phone regarding checklist

Welcome to the forum.

You should receive the items in the barely legible blue line with "wet, original" signatures from your foreign-born fiancee beneficiary. Please review the Form I-129F, it pertains to the USC petitioner. I don't believe that there is a spot for the beneficiary to sign anywhere.....

For chat records, I think it would be fine to have a certified/sworn translation without the extra step of getting them notarized.

From USCIS website:

Note: The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

Father's authorization for the child should be translated and notarized, I think, to be on the safe side.

Also you need your fiance to send you a recent passport photo, no need to sign it or anything but it needs to be included in the package.

I wouldn't focus too heavily on chat records. You have much better evidence in the form of your multiple visits for extended periods. I would focus on that. USCIS would rather see you spending time together in person than pages of random text messages.

Send copies of boarding passes, itineraries, hotel receipts for the two of you, photos of you with her family, and so on.

Nothing, no translation needed...she will interview in Peru and they speak Spanish there (I WOULD HOPE THAT EMBASSY STAFF DOES)...I submitted hundreds of Skype printout pages on my native and we were fine...( I was actually in the embassy with her for the interview but non the less...they just glanced over the Skype printouts)
