I sure do hope that all of you on this site that are so against the survival of many illegals in this country make sure to never support it in your daily lives. I hope you never make visits to stores like Walmart, Home Depot, Target, etc. I hope you don't eat at restaurants that have illegal cooks. I hope you buy everything made only by Americans in America and eat food that is only picked by Americans as well.

Here's the thing...if there wasn't such an enormous need for the work, then the workers wouldn't be coming illegally from many different countries down south. It's the Americans who own these companies that are doing the hiring of all the illegals. It helps their pocket. Because yes...you could probably find some American citizens willing to do much of the work that illegals do but you will have to pay them appropriate wages. And this in turn, would create everything in our economy to skyrocket in price. I'm sure you would all just love that.

There are some on this forum that can remember when America did very well without loads of illegal aliens pouring across the southern border. I do not buy into the notion that America will collapse without illegal aliens. Tolerance for illegal immigration is all about exploiting cheap, plentiful contraband labor for extra profit. It is a race to the bottom because once one sleazy business got away with it...the others had to follow suit. This ####### has to stop because it is not normal. We are cutting our own throats by letting the corporations do this.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

You can not be that ignorant! Illegals ARE FEDERAL CRIMINALS

They Work hard at breaking our laws, stealing from our society and commiting crimes where our children and other Honest Tax paying citizens/ legal residents are the victims.

Regardless if ILLEGALS do Work hard they DEFRAUD the USA GOVT. Their 1st act on USA Soil was that of criminla defiance of federal immigration laws. They are not Worthy of being in our country.

let alone being able to receive free heaslth care, driving up the costs for those who need it more.

They do not deserve to be here lower education standards by crashing our public education system that which they do NOT PUT 1 penny into, yet they refuse to assimilate and expect special rules for them.

They DO NOT deserve to Buy property or reside in rental units where theuy bring down the value of community.

They do NOT deserve to remain here when they TRAFFICK DRUGS, STeal id's Work illegally,

Drive illegally.

They do not deserve to remain because they are federal Criminals who compromise the security of our nation

12 of the terrorists involved in 911 were illegal aliens all which came in from the Southern USA Border so THEY CONRIBUTE AND SUPPORT TERRORISM BY COMPROMISING THE SECURITY OF THEIR BRODER and drawing USA resources away from guarding our nation.

Yes there are millions of USA citizesn unjustly drawing welfare and State support and do not work or contribute, however THEY ARE LEGAL! there shoul dbe more regulation of where state welfare funds go and how they are used.

However ALL ILLEGALS shoul dNOT be al;lowed to remain in USA , thwey shoul dbe DEPORTED, and made to enter leaglly AFTER all those who are waiting that going through the process legally have been granted GC, & After those illegal Federal criminlas Pay BACK taxes, and Fines, and wait a 10 year ban for willingly breaking federal & state laws.

These enablers think that Freedoms afforded them under the USA come without a price.

if we let these federal Criminal illegal Alien terrorists remain we are sacrificing our own freedoms.

We are hurting the future for our own children, we are alowing more terrorism and drugs to enter our nation.

The real war is with our souther border, they are more of a threat to USA than any middle east country.

Yet our govt. wastes resources that should be spent securing the criminals entering from our Southern Borders.

Those who advocate illegal criminals are no better the the illegal federal criminals and should be deported right along with them.

We don't mind "kicking out" those who are worthless to society.... as long as they're illegal. The problem with that is that by kicking out the worthless illegals, we have to kick out the illegals that are worth something too. All I'm saying is instead of kicking out illegals that are willing to work, why don't we kick out Americans that aren't?

Those Illegals Whoyou claim to be "worth something" ARE FEDERAL CRIMINALS who are only out to defraud the USA Govt. & Its people.

They send everything they earn illegally, back to their foriegn home. They contribute nothing to society!

So how are they worth anything, they cost 10+ BILLION per YEAR.

They are not doing anyone a favor instead they are theives, murderers, drug traffickers, terrorists, ILLEGAL FEDERAL CRIMINALS!

You are fooling yourself if you think the illegals will work for the same dirt cheap wages once they become citizens. Especially once they start having to chip in on social security and federal/state income taxes.

Not one of you enablers will answer... "What's wrong with 'legal' immigration?"

I'm not an enabler or a cheerleader for illegal aliens, but I'll answer. America already has the most generous legal immigration on earth. Unfortunately that answer is not sexy enough for the illegal alien cheerleader club.

Here are some facts from the CNN transcripts of Lou Dobbs Tonight and you can rest assured they are accurate:

For example, the 27 members of the European Union, plus Russia, combined have more than twice as many residents as the United States. Yet, all of those nations together accept fewer new migrants each year than the United States does.

Last year the U.S. granted nearly 1.3 million people legal permanent residency, the first step to citizenship. Fourteen percent of them from Mexico.

The United States admitted more than 400,000 skilled foreign workers and their families on H-1B visas last year.

If you include other legal temporary workers, the U.S. admitted nearly 900,000 foreigners on employment visas. Another 660,000 on student visas. Plus, 455,000 on temporary employment transfers.

That's a total of 2 million people each year legally admitted to the United States on work or student visas.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0703/21/ldt.01.html

That is 3.3 million foreigners LEGALLY allowed into the USA last year to live, work, and go to school in one year. This is in addition to probably 1+ million illegal aliens that cheated their way in.

This is way too generous and cannot continue forever. To believe that all 6 billion inhabitants in the world have a right to migrate here just because they want to come is madness. America would very soon become the kind of place these people are fleeing from. Why go there and do that?

America has a sovereign right to control immigration for its own best interests and the interests of its own citizens. American immigration policy is not about accomodating the entire world or letting illegal aliens control US immigration policy. We are already more than generous and illegal aliens deserve nothing for cheating.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

Dude. CNN's not citing immigration statistics. All student visas are non-immigrant; the Js require you to leave the country, the Fs do unless you find an employer willing to sponsor your H1-B. And the totally cool thing about it being non-immigrant, if you're worried about immigration, is that it's not immigration. The employment visas can be immigrant or non-immigrant, but they're *very* long paths to green cards. The "transfers" are probably overseas companies investing in the U.S. and transferring some of their people and hiring some of ours. If they can't transfer their experienced employees, they probably invest somewhere they can.

These are not bad things.

It's hard not to call it irrational xenophobia when the media are inflating the immigration numbers by counting half a million students and worried that 14% of new legal permanent residents are from (dark chords) Mexico. Jesus. Legal immigrants are not the problem, even if they scare CNN by speaking Spanish. Legal immigrants aren't driving wages down. Legal immigrants have all the background checks & medical exams & partridges in pear trees & ducks in a row.

Maybe we should count the tourists in there, too. Then we could have tens of millions "immigrating" each year. Or maybe we should just kill the fiancé visa. Easiest one to abuse.

Yes, we have a lot of immigration. As long as it's legal, it's not a bad thing. Why shouldn't we take the best of the world's talent and make them our own? I'd rather have the world's best scientists researching in American universities rather than overseas. (Seemed to work pretty well in WWII, taking in all those German Jewish scientists.)

Thanks for posting those numbers, peejay. I Tivo Lou and watched that show just before going to bed last night. He used them against Rep. Guiterrez who's sponsoring (another) amnesty bill. The legislator seems surprised by the numbers, which only said to me that he's going on emotion, not facts, in presenting his bill.

And regarding corporate greed, the poster child for that is Bill Gates, demanding unlimited Hb-1 visas and running down to Mexico to get honored for his azz kissing of the Mexican government. I hope Fred Thompson enters the race for prez!

Dude. CNN's not citing immigration statistics.

You are correct...they are not all immigrants, but 2/3 are foreigners that are are allowed to live, work, and go to school for a set amount of time. It is still quite generous.

It's hard not to call it irrational xenophobia when the media are inflating the immigration numbers by counting half a million students and worried that 14% of new legal permanent residents are from (dark chords) Mexico.

I do not believe it is xenophobia. There are enough of the illegal alien cheerleading squad I have seen here on VJ that believe anything less than open borders without any controls is xenophobia. I think Lou Dobbs is trying to convey that Mexicans do have a legal outlet to immigrate. I'm sure Mexicans find 14% too constraining seeing that well over 50% of illegal immigration comes from their citizens and even more illegal immigration comes across their border from other countries, but tough sh*t. US immigration policy isn't about making the USA into a carbon copy of Latin America (or any other region of the world).

Legal immigrants are not the problem, even if they scare CNN by speaking Spanish. Legal immigrants aren't driving wages down. Legal immigrants have all the background checks & medical exams & partridges in pear trees & ducks in a row.

I beg to differ. A little less than 1/2 of illegal immigrants entered legally and decided not to fulfill the terms they entered our country on. They are illegal aliens too. The sad fact is that without Entry/Exit tracking nobody really knows who or how many there are any more than we know who or how many border hoppers there are. That is not good and it needs to change.

ah.. Bill Gates needs more H visas cuz americans are becoming sandblasters, drywall 'instalers'(dunno the word lol), nurses, and plumbers.. there are fewer and fewer people interested in the programmin business, and they want a million dollar salary to start with, they don't realize that it's becoming competitive, and other countries have people as good or better too.

so u don't buy HP or Compaq computers? they're assembled in Guadalajara, Mexico

So...why doesn't Mexico import more Chinese, Indian, or African workers to compete with your "overpaid" Mexican workers? There's always somebody that comes from a country with a lower GDP to exploit. After all, there are billions of people on earth that live on less than $1 a day.

Is that the new mantra in new world economics? We'll all race to the bottom cutting each other's throats?

You don't suppose that scenario helps Bill Gates out way more than it does the average worker in America (or any other country for that matter)? Coming from a guy that has built his business on a monopoly, I think he is full of sh*t.

If there is such a shortage of workers, why have wages fallen in jobs with the heaviest illegal alien presence?
