Just got a checklist today for a police clearance that was missing from Brunei where my wife worked for two years. Here's my question the NVC has a set of instructions on their site which are different from what the Brunei Embassy is saying. The Brunei Embassy wants documents from the USEM Manila but the USEM told me they can't help until the NVC clears us first so kinda a catch 22. Any ideas. Please help I am so frustrated. Thanks in advance

Don't know if it helps because my case was limited to working in Qatar but the letter I have used to get PCC is the NOA2. I just wrote a request letter to their embassy with that attachment. I believe they would ask the same things like physical fingerprints which you can easily obtain in NBI offices or Police Headquarters of any country your wife is right now. Hope that works for you!

Are you sure it's genuinely from the NVC? And not some sort of scam email? NVC wouldn't email on a weekend anyway. They don't work weekends.

Okay are you referring to required documents? Well the petitioner has the same document as required by nvc for aos documents since it is us citizen or green card holder who files it.

As for civil documents, everything should be the same except for police clearance and I believe you have to explain why you are in Kuwait and you can ask the rest from Filipina forum. They can help you because sometimes people are in similar situations.

I had help from there and I did my own research to see what was needed. It was time consuming but it was worth it.

Yeah, the required documents. I've been looking around this site since we agreed to get married and did some research here and there. That being said, I've been reading forums in Kuwait, ME and Philippines too but there seems to be not much of members from Kuwait here, for CR1 petition I mean.

As with the I-864, I already asked my husband to prepare his returns for the past 3 years. His 2013 and 2014, they both pass the guideline but his 2015 didn't since for the remaining 5 months last year he worked here in Kuwait and his income wasn't included in the return. So we thought that we could use a co-sponsor which, his stepfather.

You dont have to go home to get an NBI clearance. I am not sure about Kuwait specifics but mostly you would need to request physical fingerprints from CID or Police Headquarters then bring it to the PH embassy for them to process the NBI clearance for you. Ive used my letter of approval NOA2 to request my Police clearance here in Singapore and they grant my request. If you worked elsewhere in the middle east i worked in Qatar you better visit their embassy i process my PCC from them and still waiting on it 2-3mos release. UAE you wont need any if you are no longer there. Hope that helps.

Any idea how long would it take for the embassy to process the NBI clearance?

I did get an email stating that they received my docs and that it will take them 30 days due to high volume. But I called and confirmed too and plus I sent all the docs.

Hi need help here

My uncle is going to be a joint sponsor. And we both share the same address. So whats the household size is gonna be.

I did it that way.

Person sponsoring in this affidavit: 1

Yourself: 1

Currently married then 1 for spouse:1

Already sponsored someone who became LPR:1

So its gonna be 4 for me. Is that correct?

Now is still gonna be the same for my uncle too. 1 for him. 1 for spouse. 1 for beneficiary and1 for LPR.

Thanks

Here is my questions for you: how many people are you sponsoring and how many people are already under your household?

For your uncle: how many people he already supports?

This is how I did mine.

I did i864 for my husband. He is the immigrating person so I didn't count him twice in my i864 form. In the household question I had total of 3 people: me, my immigrating person (I didn't put 1 in the married section since I am already counting him) and my brother who is helping me.

In my brother household he counted 3 as well but his form was i864a since he is my brother and he lives in the same household.

You have to usee i864a for ur uncle and i864 for urself.

Yours is incorrect. You put 0 where it says are you married. That doesn't apply to you. Your spouse is already counted in #1.

So you sponsored someone else before?

Your Uncles household is him, his spouse, whoever else he claims in his taxes and your wife.

You can always try an expedite maybe they (embassy) will approve. Be sure you show when school starts all that to make a better case. Since this isn't a life or death emergency.

Won't know unless you try.

Are u sure he have to fill out i 864a bcoz i heard if petitioner brother sister or parents are joint sponsor then they have to fill out that form.

Thanks for correcting me. Yes i did sponsored my mom couple of years ago. She is now a LPR. i still have to count her in my household right?
