So today I got a status update saying USPS was unable to deliver the card to my address after 20 days and their reason was Receptacle Blocked. I never got anything from them in the first place saying anything about a fail attempt to deliver it until I got the text today from USCIS. USCIS never updated my status with any tracking so I was never able to track the delivery to prevent any of this from happening. I have never fail to get any of my USCIS letters all these times until now so I have no idea what USPS was doing. This is totally unacceptable on both ends (USCIS and USPS).

I have made a request for USCIS to resend the card. Anyone ran into this issue before and how did it get resolve?

One possible solution is to rent a PO box and then have USCIS send your green card to that PO box, if you believe you're having issues with USPS that may not be resolved.

This is the first time it ever happen to me and from what I understand, they didn't even try to deliver it and just let it sit in their warehouse.

Receptacle Blocked

OAKLAND, CA 94606

No where did it mention they left any note of fail attempt or re-attempt, and USPS doesn't deliver at 10:12 pm......I believe someone was just lazy to drop it off at my house.

Receptacle Blocked means there was something wrong with your mailbox on the day that an attempt was made to deliver it. Have you been receiving other mail around that time?

10:12 PM is when it was logged into the system. It does not mean that was the time when there an attempt to deliver to your house.

That's just their excuse. I never had any issue with my box for over 20 years here. I have been getting regular mail since the date of delivery. This is the first time I seen this, and I live in an area with no bad weather whatsoever and my box is just a half foot behind my bar gate.

Sometimes mistakes happens. Sorry that it is causing you problems.

As a Viet Kieu living in the US since age 5, I really don't like the Vietnamese mentality of blaming people for bad faith with no evidence. Instead of being angry, you need to not play the blame game and focus solely on how to solve your problem. Looking to blame someone is not productive.

The solution to your problem is simply to ask USCIS to mail out the green card again. Looking for someone to blame is not the answer.

I am not trying to blame anyone, just stating the facts that I didn't not even get a note left behind saying they fail to deliver....If they left a note, I would have pick it up at their office.

FYI: I am Chinese.

Same same but different. You are displaying a Vietnamese flag, sorry for the mistake.

You keep focusing on the failure to deliver and no note. That's over. No need to dwell on it. Dwelling on it does not solve your problem.

Simply ask USCIS to mail it out again and be on the lookout for it.

My wife was raise and live in but not born in Vietnam. I am the USC. If you read my OP, I did request them to send again but was also looking for similar experience for help/advice. Thanks for your input.

For those of you who went through similar experience. How long does it take for them to resend the card?

Put your names on the inside of the flap of the mailbox, I have seen many posts where this has helped though I don't

understand why a name has to be on it myself but I understand it to be an old VJ fix for this problem.

Korruptor - I feel your pain. One of your assumptions is probably correct: Too lazy to go the extra step for your delivery. I hold several USPS mailing permits (publishing biz) and have had numerous problems with incompetency. The USPS will often drop a "Notice of Delivery" card with the rest of your mail. This is the little colored card that notifies you of a delivery attempt. However, these cards are often lost or overlooked - it's a horrible system that gets a lot of complaints.

It's hard to avoid the USPS when dealing with government agencies - for obvious reasons. Incompetency breeds incompetency.

Good luck!

I don't know but my cousin had the same issue and it took almost a year for Uscis to get her another GreenCard. I believe it was like 10 months. Focus on getting the GreenCard. Good luck.
