Good luck! (Yeah, I filled the form in a couple of times because I forgot to put the Suite number the first time... but I did get a letter. Hopefully this does the trick!)

I called USCIS to find out if they've already updated my address from my initial request.  <_<

Well, their system was down so they suggested that I go to the local office for infopass!?  :bonk:

I told them that there was no way I was going to the local office for infopass for an address change!  :ranting:  I would call them back tomorrow or wait for a letter hoping that someone updates it this time!

Quick Question...has anyone received any kind of update to their case since everyone here filed in August? Of course we received our extension letter which is good for a year, but as of yet...not one update to our case or anything. I have checked online case status..nothing. Not saying that something won't happen, but heavens to mergatroid!! You'd think we would have received seen some kind of movement. I know with the new administration, there are potentially some hold ups or slow-downs if you will...but wanted to see if anyone has had any news whatsoever...

USCIS has not updated the processing times for over a month. My guess is for August filers, we might have to wait for another 2 to 3 months.

Ok, guys, the latest update of processing times is up now. It took them the entire month just to move a week's load. They are processing June 7th as of today, movie from 5/31. So with this rate of one week a month, we are looking at 5 or 6 more moths of wait. Really backed up, we won't get approved until this November or October...

Oh, sheesh. I am an October 2016 filer who was looking for an update in other threads. What a mess. My husband had his biometrics appointment in December. What happens if it takes more than a year? Do we get sent another extension letter?

I am sorry, I am just being conservative so I won't set myself for disappointment. If one year extension is up, as far as I know, you will make an appointment when the extension is close to expired, and have an immigration officer stamped 551 on your passport, and your will be extended for another year.

I did an address change on their website and got a confirmation email right away, wouldn't that be enough? Do you think I need to call them because I didn't receive an actual letter?

Thanks!

So with this rate of one week a month, we are looking at 5 or 6 more moths of wait. Really backed up, we won't get approved until this November or October...

Remember that while a person on the phone at USCIS  will tell you that June 7th is as of today, the webpage itself says that those dates were current as of February 28th.  So a month and a half out of date already. There have been approvals post June 7th (even one in July) even among the tiny sample of VisaJourney filers. I'm thinking CSC filers will probably be approved sometime in June.

The reason they post times that are already out of date is so that we can't make a whole load of service inquiries (which would put them even further behind).

Remember a couple of weeks ago when someone posted a link to an article about H1B visas? There was a bumper crop of them this year, since 45 may cancel them next year. USCIS brings in extra temp staff to process them,  but the CSC regular staff probably spent most of their time in late 2016/early 2017 doing the prep for it... which, not coincidentally, is the time when CSC seems to have ground to a halt. They're speeding up again now that the temps are in place.

It's totally fine to set your expectations low so that you won't be disappointed, but overall the times for CSC are staying steady at about 9-10 months. Which sucks, but most of us won't need to get a stamp, I think.

Is your timeline updated?

I have a feeling you are right, and I hope you are right as I have been waiting for 8.5 months. It took 10 months for a friend of mine to get his approval, so that seems to be accurate. Yes, like I said I am just being conservative, and if that is the case, then, for July and August filers, we are going to wait for another 2 or 3 months. We are almost there!!

I did an address change on their website and got a confirmation email right away, wouldn't that be enough? Do you think I need to call them because I didn't receive an actual letter?

I think you're supposed to receive a letter besides the initial confirmation email.  :dead:

You may want to wait for 2-3 weeks for the letter before calling them up or filling out the form again.  :clock:
