K1 from Egypt & military cert question

Hi Everyone!

I petitioned my fiance for the k1 on 7/6 and received the text/email on 7/8 then received the NOA1 letter today!!! Im glad this part went fast within the first week! Our case was sent to the California service center.

My fiance is from Egypt. I have a question about the military cert for those of you who have been through the interview process already out of Cairo. He's an engineer in college and exempt from the military while in college as an engineer until age 28 so what paper exactly is he supposed to get for his interview when that time comes? Something from his university or something from the military?

He may get it from his University a paper stating his situation and he could visit nearest army office and ask for official to" whom it may concern paper ". Ultimately he need to personally go and get it.

Tamara, are you friends with Heather Kamal on FB? You may want to speak to her about this, her husband was exempted due to college, and having a problem getting the (Release) stamp on his passport from the military to come here. His visa was granted , but unable so far to obtain the Exit stamp from the military.

That's true fact specially for doctors and engineers, all collage students in there last year of university, the army don't issue them travel permit. So you have to be sure of when you guys going to travel in regards to his army travel permit, I'm engineer by the way too, but I'm done with my service.

That's great you completed your military service, will make obtaining the stamp easier for you when the time comes.

He's in his 3rd year of college for engineering out of 5.

Well good, if you guys end up getting his visa before his last year, hopefully sooner, they will issue him travel permit, no worries.

But ultimately he will need after graduation to clear his army service whether finish it or get exempt.

He needs to show the exemption letter from the military at the interview. Once his visa is issued , then he will need to go back to the military and ask for the Exit stamp.

My friend's husband is from Egypt and just received his visa a month ago after over 3 years of waiting because the military took their time giving him an exit stamp.

My friend , her husband is having the same issue, he got his visa, but military wont stamp it off.
