I'm here on K1 visa.Due to being blindly in love,I left my son back at home. Now I'm desperate to get a job so I can take care of him and myself as well.Life has been pretty hard being jobless in a foreign country,I'm stuck with no job or friends to assist me.

hi

sorry but you can't until you get your EAD, you need your work permit plus your social security number to get a job

there are many places you can volunteer in the mean time, and you will get some experience along the way

That is one of the negatives of the K1, having to wait for work or travel. You are not allowed to work at all. You can look for work, sign up with job agencies and go to interviews, but most employers won't be interested in you until they know you could start work soon.

Don't know where you are in North Carolina but if near a big city there are support groups for new immigrants

join one and they can help you adjust in that community

as soon as you can get a driving license as it helps to know the area and have some freedom of your own even if you just want to go for groceries on your own

best to you
