hi

my fiance and i are gathering all the chat texts now, taking screen shots

now i read somewhere that we should avoid showing the chat that says something about "wife or husband"

my question is, how about the word "married?"

he said something about let's get married now

that time, we still havent met in person, we were chatting for a certain number of weeks and he is on his way to see me in a weeks time.

i think it is a joke but it is a red flag?

thanks

Hi,

There is really no reason that there is a problem with the word married. I say this for two reasons, 1st unless you receive a request for evedance there is no reason to send the chat logs with the initial application I129f, the agency that I used said not to send them and to wait for the interview. My fiance and I call each other husband and wife, bana and asawa often especially before we met in person. Also my friend and his wife called each other asawa on chat logs before she arrived here and they actually got married. Take good pictures and keeps receipts that show you are a couple. During the interview is the time to avoid using terms like husband, wife, asawa, bana and so forth.

Yes, avoid using those.

Rule if thumb: The CO's have no humour and take everything seriously/literally.

Also, keep in mind, everything you send with the original petition will be reviewed by the embassy before your interview.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

It's a big red flag to the CO. If there is any indication whether jokingly or not the CO may decline your application for a K1 as they believe you are married. Do a search here on VJ and you will read many that were decline. It's best to leave chat logs out that make reference to marriage, as well, don't display pictures that can convey a marriage celebration such as an engagement party.

Do not submit evidence with that wording.

:time: Your timeline is blank, did you already file the I-129F and are approved or ???

Well I met my fiancee with a line... I hit on her making reference to a certain book and add "if you understand this reference, I'll marry you". It was clearly a joke. We added the screenshots of this conversation because it's how we met. What do you guys think?

I honestly can't believe this would cause trouble. They have more important things to care about. IT would be the extreme ridiculous being denied because of it.

In your case it was in the future tense, so no reason for it to cause problems.

OP's case is different. Calling each other husband and wife is a red flag for K-1 because both parties need to be free to marry at the time the petition is filed/the petition is adjudicated/the visa is granted/at POE.

thanks everyone. i will make sure not to include it.

also, another question for i134

my fiance has stopped working since 2015, although his last w2 form in 2015 has exceeded the 125% minimum.

right now, the only proof of support he can show is bank statements..

is there anything we can do to increase the chance of getting approved with the bank statement only as a proof?

thank you
