Hi guys,

So I spoke to a tier 2 officer today and she told me that my case is at the national benefit centre, does this mean a potential interview waiver?

I haven't received any letter in regards to that, but by reading some topics here on VJ most of the people with interview waiver their case is being processed at the national benefit centre and they're waiting 13+ month....

for what it's worth, our case is at the NBC, we got a waiver letter back in September, and we've been waiting 13 months now...

Yeah thats what I was thinking, maybe mine is potential interview waiver as well.. it's just so frustrating I haven't received anything and it's been 10 months now!

Wait...are you saying that if your case is sent to NBC in Missouri, that there is a good chance for an approval without an interview? Ours is there, so I'm just curious where you got that information. It hasn't been transferred to our local office, yet. We've gotten the EAD and are waiting on a decision or interview notification. This sounds very encouraging!

I hate to burst your bubble, but I used to feel that way before we were waiting for 13+ months. At this point, we'd love to have an interview. :crying:

Which visa are you adjusting from? If you're adjusting from a work, student or tourist visa you will have an interview no matter what

my understanding is if you get a potential waiver letter from NBC your average wait time is 12-18months for approval so in my opinion i would rather get an interview to get my GC sooner vs waiting a ridiculas amount of time for it to be waived from NBC... if your local office waives it then i think it get waived as soon as they recieve your case which is typically anytime after 60days

I was at NBC and I never received a waiver letter but I was approved without an interview. So maybe it is true, if you're at NBC you don't have to go through an interview. Would be interesting to know why some have to do it and some don't.

Hello,

I'm adjusting from visutor visa, awaiting for interview, we filed Nov 2015, it's been 8 months now, not sure where our case is. USCIS can't give me an answer. But my receipt number start with MSC. Didn't get any RFE, I placed a case inquiry they said our local field office will contact us within 90 days of this notice, email came from NBC. I read a lot of applicant approved without interview. I don't mind going to interview I just don't want to wait these long, my friend got her GC in 3 months!
