hey

i hope you are in US now

how was the POE ? you took a non stop flight to orlando right ?

can you share your exp at orlando airport

My POE was pretty easy! Calgary, if you're doing a non stop flight to the US, has an entry point there. So that was my point of entry. They have a sign that says you can only enter in two hours before your flight, but I mentioned I had a visa and it may take a while so they let me in through early. After getting through the security point and going up to the counter, they pulled me into a room and I just sat there for about 15-20 minutes (they have a sign saying not to use your cellphone and no clock, so I THINK it was about that). Then they called my name, said I had to get married in 90 days and sent me on my way. That was it, no questions asked, absolutely nothing but "leave your luggage outside, sit in the room on the right." "Miss PandaSong?" "You're all done. All you have to do is get married in 90 days." (I then asked about if I needed any paperwork or to pay anything and they said no, I was all done).

It was all really easy! Wednesday I'm off to go put in the paperwork for the SSN stuff. :) So no worries to anyone else entering, it has seemed reaaally easy so far.

For CR1/IR1 they will get your signature and fingerprint which will be on your hard copy green card. But yeah, POE is generally pretty cake.

Quick question:

My visa was finally updated to issued today (YAY!) and I just got an email from the consulate telling me my status had been updated. The email also says that it's being delivered via their courier, Canada Post, to the address I supplied during registration, and the tracking number they've given me does indeed take me to the Canada Post site. Did this happen to everyone else? Is their system just behind and isn't reflecting the switch to purolator, or is it possible they've gone back to Canada Post?

my wife had her interview today

they said " you will get your visa in 8 days from canada post "

but the paper that they gave had information about purolator

confusing to me

I got the same paper at the end of my interview. I'm hoping this is a really recent change and it means that extra travel isn't going to be necessary, but if that's then case I'm also going to feel even worse for the few people who were impacted by the interruption and had to go so far out of their way.

Update: I just got an email from Canada Post saying they were contacting me on behalf of the consulate to give me instructions on my shipment. The address they have listed is my home address, so it looks like they might have switched back, at least for the time being.

we initially selected Saskatoon main post office for our courier selection

but this morning changed it to Montreal since we decided to spend one more week in Montreal , pick up the packet from here

i hope they send it to the Montreal post office , don't want it to be at the home address

did you ask for a home delivery ?

I did ask for a home delivery, yes. The closest purolator location was always going to be at least 4 hours away, so I paid the extra when I scheduled my interview.

SAMACK, how long was yours in the 'ready' status? Ours just updated to 'ready' late this afternoon.

I had my interview on July 20th and my status stayed as "ready to schedule interview" until the 26th, when it switched to "ready...if you've already had your interview". It went to administrative processing on the 27th, then issued today, the 28th. I got my emails from Canada Post not long after I realized it had switched to issued.
