The $120 is actually for the affidavit of support (I-864) when filing through the NVC. There is no fee for the I-864 when filed directly through the consulate (which is why Marianne does not have to pay this fee).

Yep, another reason we didn't do a K-1. I suspect many others feel the same way.

Yup!! I have NO issue with paying, it is just that the Consulate has been cryptic about the process in general so I wasn't well prepared for this fee. I was told we paid it with the I-130 (they had a price list on the wall).

But all is well, with your help, I understood and transferred the money to have on hand on Wednesday!

It's the immigrant visa fee. Just like most things, you have to pay to apply for a visa. The $420 was the I-130 petition fee to see if you could even apply for a visa. Note this fee will be per person.

So your children, if not USC, will each need this fee!!!

If the visa is approved you pay the $165 green card fee to ELIS (part of USCIS) for the production of the green card. This fee is also per person, just like the I-130 petition fee was per petition and the $325 IV fee is per person

Thank you JFH for correcting the AOS fee. There is no fee for choice of agent! There is a fee for the I-864 to be processed outside of a USCIS center, which does not occur in a DCF filing.

(Also to note above- an I-130 was needed for each immigrating child. A child with a CRBA is already a USC.)

I paid the VISA App fee for a cr1 $325 but could not get the visa as my wife needed to obtain 601 waiver. After the waiver was approved the embassy said we have to pay the $325 processing fee again... I dont get this

Do I need to pay again to return for a 2nd interview and finish the process?

There is no information on-line on this and what did they use the firs $325 for if they did not issue the visa and told us to get the waiver and come back again?
