We had our interview on the 18th. My fiance said the interview went well. They gave him our pictures back but they kept everything else. They said that they are waiting on the report from the medical. It shows Administrative processing on the website. Just anxious here. Congrats to everyone who got approved :)

Get in touch with the medical clinic and try to tell them to send your results to the embassy.

Do not worry. Prepare your room. He is coming.

Hello everyone, not good news here, had my medical today and the dictor saw something unusual in my lungs, that can be similar to a virus that you must don't have to get the visa. My personal doctor thinks that can be something else because that virus is not commun, but the people of my medical took place say that the protocol for Consulate pruposes is that They need to get some samples for 3 days and cultivate the virus, and after 2 months we will get the results if everything is OK I can proceed with the visa if not I need to take a treatment for another 6 months.

The same happiness that I felt when I got approved I'm feeling now but in the opposite way, so sad here :(

Sorry to hear that, can your personal doctor intervene on your behalf?

I wish, but they can't. They have to notify to the Consulate what happens and because of that, next time I have to prove that I did the 3 day test and they cultivate the virus to examine it. I know it sucks! Always tought in the interview, never in the medical. Hope that it's nothing and can apply in a couple of months again.

Have already waited for 21 days since NVC sent my packet to China. Still got nothing from Guangzhou embassy...seems things won't move fast at this step for me. Waiting is killing me.

I always thought the people doing the medical were supposed to call you and inform you of anything and not leave it so you find out at the medical?

I assume they're talking about Tuberculosis? As you say it takes a little while to cultivate. You'll be fine though and two months will fly by :)

How did it go???

aaaannddd?

YAYYY GOT APPROVED :) Got at the embassy at around 9:30am, there was no waiting they allowed me straight to the security check up, by 10:30 i was already done with the security check up and was directed to the counter 5, where i was asked for my passport, original police certificates and DS160 confirmation page and then i was sent to counter 4 to pay the interview fee. After that i was sent to counter 6 for fingerprints. In all that movemement there was no waiting because there was no many people. So after that, now it was time to wait for the actual interview. After an hour and a half i was called by name by this mid 40s Caucasian old lady, she was so nice and she start by apologizing for keeping me waiting for that long and she explained that they were experiencing some server problem and of coarse i replied with 'no problem'.

so after that she start with the oath, then with a smiley face a very soft voice she asked me to explain how my fiance and I met and all the way to the engagement, so i started this romantic story of how we met volunteering back in Kenya, Africa and she was right there typing and laughing then she said " wow, lovely story" i replied "thank you so much". Then, she asked whether i have ever been married or have kids. After that she smiled and said "Mr Wairimu, Welcome to America and have a Good life with your fiance". All that took like 5-10 mins.

The funny thing is that there was no any single proof/document that was asked or even a question regarding our co sponsor or what my fiance does or why she doesn't make enough money. it was so smooth and very stress-free.

I would like to give special thanks to all the Vjers out there, you are all so wonderful people.

so happy for all approved and good luck to all who's still waiting for their interviews. Honestly it's not that hard, as long as you're prepare and your case is genuine you will be good.

Thank you ...

Yes when they saw my lungs took more X-rays and at the end of the medical they ask me to go back later and talk with the specialist... He says that it could be something else but the protocol for the Consulate is to make a research in tuberculosis and that takes 2 months. As I know it's not that common the virus .

Hopefully it's gonna be okay and have my interview again in 2 months.

Good luck to everyone that still on the way and congrats that all that has been approved!.. I'm happy for you
