Hi guys, i have a question.

We are done with the NVC process and my interview date was scheduled for the 7th of june. However the national Visa Center contacted I was saying that our appointment was rescheduled for 29th of June. But a few days ago, the consulate of Casablanca in Morocco called my home phone asking whether or not we would like an earlier date ( june 17th ) and my mother informed them that she cannot make that decision and they told her they would leave it as is. Now my wife emailed them saying she will take the offer but they have not emailed her back. What should i do?

If i read correctly you no longer have the 17th available because they said they would leave as is.

That makes your interview the 29th.

Wait I'm confused.....Original Poster was a CR1/IR1 visa, which NVC schedules all visa interviews, unless it's different specifically for Morocco. My husband's was scheduled by NVC along with just about everyone else with the same visa type. Didn't they schedule for yours?

My understanding has been Embassy normally provides interview dates and times to NVC and NVC schedules the interview. once the interview is scheduled, then Embassy can be involved and can reschedule based on what's happening at the consulate. I know of other VJ members who have gotten phone calls from the embassy regarding their case.

I think expedited cases and nonimmigrant visas maybe can schedule own interview but not sure.

yes, but NVC sent his packet and interview date to embassy

they no longer have it in their system / this i was told in an inquiry letter i sent to NVCinquiry@state.gov

and really??? have any of you gotten a call from NVC?

how did NVC get mother's telephone number?

NVC contacts the applicant not the beneficary

i had to forward emails to Adil

at one time i tried so many times to call NVC and i sent inquirys asking them to call me / no calls

and one of the problems all moroccans will tell you is that everyone is jealous of anyone getting a chance at a visa and some will try to ruin chances

my friend got tourist visa to France and never told anyone in morocco but his family / didn't even post photos of his trip on facebook

i am always supusios of calls when i can not verify who is at the other end

Yes, you're right. NVC doesn't call. I worked with a specific Supervisor at NVC after I kept getting checklisted and got a call on my home phone, which was listed on all the documents, to say my case was completed. That in itself was a surprise so I still called NVC to confirm it was true...which it was. Them calling about a date change....that I haven't heard. I have heard of the Embassy contacting the beneficiary about date changes or such.

so ya,..I can understand being suspicious about NVC calling....
