After a whole month of gathering all the papers need, I finally mail my I-129F last March 15,2007. How long should I wait for the first notice? I filed in Laguna Niguel, CA.

Anything I should be doing while waiting for the notice? How about Affidavite of Support do I have to work on these now or wait? Need feed back on what should I do next?

Thanks

well if u go to guides, K-1 flowchart on this site u're gonna see that typically it takes 2-3weeks to receive NOA1 from the moment the USCIS received the package :) I dont know about ur center. I filed with VSC and my NOA1 was the second day after they received it.

Removal of conditions...

Ross, I too filed at the Laguna Niguel office. They processed mine and cashed my check 3 days after I mailed it so you should have your NOA1 by Monday or Tuesday. All that means is that they cashed your check and assigned you a case # which will be on the back of the check. Mine is a WAC................... account number. You can check my timeline. I'm about two months ahead of you but the time will go fast. Where is your fiance from? Good luck on the process. It can be aggravating and fun at the same time. Lot's of people here to share the experience with. BTW, I live in Irvine. Ken

CSC will be slow. Really slow. It's not only processing western U.S. visa applications, it's processing applications from the south and midwest regions. Your check will be paid/cashed within 7-10 days and within another 7-10 days, you'll receive the NOA1 in the mail. This document provides notification that CSC has received your petition and is reviewing it. The NOA1 also includes the petition's ID number, which enables you and your fiance to view the petition status online.

If you want to get a jump on the documents you'll need moving forward, take a look at the VJ pages regarding K-1 and visit your consulate's web site. Each embassy requires a plethora of documents, as well as, "how to" instructions. You might start by printing emails, collecting phone records, receipts from your trips to/fro, photographs, etc. I was stunned by how long it took to print four month's of emails. The stack was 1.5" thick. Seems simple enough, right? Give yourself plenty of time to get this done. Save copies of everything.

You've joined a great, and interesting, group of people! This experience will teach you a lot. You'll find yourself joyful one day, despondent the next; confident one week, frustrated the next. You'll be weary and worried, relieved and grateful over and over ... and that's if everything goes well.

Much good luck and welcome!!

Wow. Hmm....Thank you for that comment. I've only been waiting for about 10 days since I sent it out. I hope it arrives in the mail tomorrow, Monday. All K Visa are supposed to be sent to CSC. We're on the same boat.

Consolemaster,

Figure it has to travel from California to Boston. Give it a few more days. (F)
