Hello,

I have a few questions and wondering if someone can help.

can a green card holder apply for his dad and sisters to come to the U.S.? If so, what's the process? Is there a guide on her that explains everything and also what's the estimate time for the petition to be approved and what kind of documents are needed.

thank you for the help in advance!

To petition for your parents (mother or father) to live in the United States as green card holders, you must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old. Green card holders (permanent residents) may not petition to bring parents to live permanently in the United States.

To petition to bring your sibling (brother or sister) to live in the United States as a green card holder, you must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years of age. Permanent residents may not petition to bring siblings to live permanently in the United States.

To answer your question on timing...

Once you are a citizen and are able to petition, you are looking at somewhere around a year for your parents and 15 years for your siblings.

Long time? Yes, I suppose it is. Be thankful you can petition for them at all. Not many countries allow immigrants and new citizens to bring flocks of family members into the country also.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

hi

as others have said, you need to be a USC to file for parents and siblings

for your dad it will take around a year. for your sisters if you file, then it is over 12 years

your dad once he comes he can file for them as well, the process will take over 7 years, but they have to remain unmarried until they enter the country,

how long do you have to wait until you become a USC?
