Hi Everyone!

I am a Canadian F-1 student visa holder in the USA. When I moved to the United States 3.5 years ago I opened a USA TD checking/savings account, and also applied and received a USA TD Credit Card- without a SSN since I was on a student visa and not working.

I have a question- I am currently applying for a SSN and once I receive the SSN and report it to the USA TD, will my USA 'credit history' start from the day I receive my SSN, or will the USA credit history adjust retroactively back 3.5 years while I was on my student visa and first got the USA TD credit card?

Thank you in advance.

When you add your SSN with a W9 on your USA TD credit card, double check with the company how the credit will be reported. With RBC USA, mine wasn't reported in the until I added the SSN. Until then it reported to Canadian credit bureaus.
