my wife doesnt have her vaccination records..she has moved several times since she was a kid and parents separated thus the records getting lost..she is far from her home town and from what her mom said she isnt able to retrieve a copy..how will this effect her medical exam and what should she do about it when she goes.we want to get this done and will use a NVC letter with MNL case number on it as we just got completed by the NVC on tuesday..

also her NBI and police clearance has expired just recently(though NVC has completed it) should we get new ones or just leave them as is and wont affect her interview?

I was unable to access my vaccination records, but I was able to have my local doctor test me for the antibodies for the conditions they are looking for (you can find a list on the web under medical protocol for immigration exams). I knew I had all my vaccinations and the blood tests showed that I had all the sufficient antibodies. I brought a copy of the test results to my exam which had be signed and certified by my doctor and they accepted that. You might want to try this, it might avoid having to get all the shots during the medical exam (and avoid the expense) Good luck. BTW I also had my doctor take a chest x ray to show that I did not have TB, but they would not accept that and I was required to pay for another chest x ray during the medical exam.

I would go to your local health department and start getting all the shot possible. Many are free or at a discount for low income. Some need to be given over time Hepatitis B I think is given over a 6 month period all you need is the first one to start the Medical exam and then have the rest completed before interview. This happened to my wife and she had to get all her shots again. Some she may not need but Civil Surgeon will tell you which ones, complete those and get the CS to sign off as you get them. It's not the end of the world just a bunch of shots and time. Hope this helps a little. Maybe someone who id more knowledgeable will reply. Good luck.

If there is no way to retrieve her vaccination records, I'm pretty sure she can receive all the required shots during the medical exam.

awesome.thank you.i figured that would be the case.if no proof then they would just give her all thats required.i know its been a long time since any vaccinations so im sure she would end up getting everything anyways.. :)

i may do that and just have her start on seeing the doctor for the time being.she wants to go back to her home town for a few weeks to visit freinds and family.its a lot cheaper there so that would be a good idea to let her do it there instead of all at once at the medical.i read for that in Manila it could take a day or two.thank you, you two :D

Don't worry about not having vaccination records. They will determine which shots to be given on the second day of her medical exam and they'll give it to her (if they don't see anything in her x-ray).

do you know roughly how many vaccinations it would be?

Posted

Let St. Lukes give her the vaccinations. They will give her the three or four shots she needs. The vaccinations are already included in the price of the medical, and are normally given on the second day of the medical.

When I went there for my medical I didn't have vaccination records. Doctor just gave me 3 shots.

You don't have to pay extra for the shots.

awesome i really appreciate the replies and info..id rather do all at once than have her go back and forth a lot.shes already going to be getting new NBi and police clearance and then print out the documents she needs plus the passport photos and such for her medical.hopefully next week i can have her go out and take her medical..thank you everyone for replying and all info has been a big help..not that i see what needs to be done.this process is so much easier than the rest. :D

What's the police clearance for? Did she live outside PH?

to check her background..i got confirmation this morning that she does need to update her police clearance if expired..she will update her NBI today..not 100% sure she needs to but just in case, ill have her do it..i dont know if she can go take her medical now that she has all documents except her interview letter..i thought i read she could take without the letter itself but just an NVC letter with the case number..im not sure how to confirm she can do this and dont want to waste time.

If she didn't live outside PH there's no need for a police clearance.

She can do the medical even without the letter but it's highly recommended to do it once you have your interview date and letter becuase it's only good for several months.

Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the U.S. Embassy , if available

this is what the letter from the NVC states about the police clearance.maybe i read it wrong

The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the following three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:
He or she is more than 16 years old;
The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and
He or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate.
but we already got a new 1 just in case..the medical last 6 months.if we dont have the interview date info then slec will accept an nvc letter with the case number on it?
