RFE for i864 [merged threads]

hi all .

Hope you can help me on how to properly respond to our RFE. I attached a pic of it on this topic.

so: item 1: says that we passed an incomplete form, upon checking the photocopy of our packet we did missed out on that one lol ?? so i'm clear on that

item 2: asking us about an i864 from a co-sponsor, problem is we did'nt file for a co-sponsor since we didn't need one. I'm just a little confused on how shall we respond on that??

Pls help. Thanks and also is RFE a good/bad sign??

If the reason for the RFE lists the income is insufficient, then they will suggest the use of assets and/or a joint sponsor. It is a general/blanket/one-size-fits-all letter.

If you meet the requirement, then you need to provide documentation that you do.

There is no photo attached to your post, and an RFE is not a good or bad sign. It simply means that you did not initially submit everything that was required to adjudicate your case.

it doesn't say on the RFE letter that my spouses' income was insufficient. it just states that the name on page 1 and 3 are different even without passing a i864 for a co-sponsor. I' ll try to attach the pic again , wonder what happened the first time lol

They oulined two items that we needed to submit back to them.

Item 1: going back to our packet weve noticed that we indeed left part 4 blank lol ??

Item 2: we didn't include a co-sponsor as we didn't need one but they are asking us to send an i864 from a co-sponsor. So that's really confusing.

Here's an image of the RFE letter. Anyone suggestions on how should we respond to item two?

It's a boiler plate RFE, if you are not using a joint sponsor (and you are sure you don't need one) then ignore that part, just fix what was wrong with your I-864 and send it back.

Rang them to ask is that what we were supposed to do but person on the phone just kept reading what the RFE said and I was kinda saying I know what it says as I have it here in front of me and can read it myself! Just let her ramble on until she was finished, said Thank you for all your assistance and put the phone down.

thank you so much. so basically all i need to do is complete page 3 right? do i need to send anything with it like w2's, 1099s and tax schedules? on our packet we have already sent tax documents except 1099s and tax schedules.

what do they mean on item 2 anyway talking about a joint sponsor even though we didn't have one?

I was planning to call but I guess not a good idea after hearing your experience haha ??

If Page 3 has no name, then that is your problem and reason for the RFE. As stated, Page 3 Part 4 does not match the name on Page 1 Part 1, or it was blank.

Send a new form, and be sure all pages and parts are filled out correctly. The name of your petitioner/sponsor should be the same on Page 1 as it is on Page 3, Part 4.

If you did not send a separate I-864 for a joint sponsor, then disregard that part of the RFE.

Thanks guys for all your answer . Greatly appreciated ?? it might be the best if i just send in tax documents AGAIN ? with the i864 , what do you guys think?

did you write a letter of explanation when you sent back the I 864? or you did you just attach the rfe letter with the completed i864 and tax docs? please share what you exactly did. I received the same and still wondering how could have I missed the info on page 3 part 4 since I checked it many times. I later discovered that deleting page 12 part 11 automatically deletes page 3 and continued printing all once. How about the page 12? Did you leave it blank and just wrote NA when no addl info? or you still wrote the sponsor's name even no addl info? I'm about to resend next week. Im kinda nervous. Appreciate your response it very much. Thanks
