Hi, I have a questions about going back to the Philippines. The last time I went there was fine but I don't know about the customs now. As what I heard they are going to tax if I'l bring stuffs there? Then I heard about you can only bring one cosmetic and one perfume, is that true?

I wanted to bring my used clothes for my neice and also I want to take some of my makeups. And a few gifts for my family but I'm kinda scared going through customs.

Thank you for reading.

Smile at the girl in the kiosk while saying magandang gabi and keep walking. They didn't ask to see anything in my last 3 trips and I had more than used clothing and cosmetics. Don't worry and take what you want.

Thank you all, that helps me a lot. I have a connecting flights going to Bohol from Manila. Is that true that they will open your luggage and look what's inside there? I know I am being paranoid as what my husband said. But I heard a lot of news about the "tanim bala" putting bullets in your luggage.

It has happened before.

Us? We locked every single luggage zipper/opening and ones that couldn't be locked were sealed with tape not easily removed. Never leave bags out of sight, purses completely closed or locked. Jackets off and put in closed cellophane bag. Zero problems doing that but we're rightfully "paranoid"

I just returned from the Philippines a couple weeks ago and had no issues with customs whatsoever. I brought a lot of gifts for my wife and her family without any problems. They didn't even ask to look at my bags.
