Hi Everyone,

Just curious to know who else is waiting for the ROC to be approved via VSC. I applied for ROC on 09/10/2014 and i did my biometric. I am tired of putting in service requests, i get the same reply that my case is still pending. Its really frustrating. No RFE and no interview letter. The last time i went to the Local Field Officer to receive another extension, the IO told me that will get an interview letter in January, but did not receive any letter. I cant apply for citizenship cos i have to wait for the condition to be lifted first. Anyways just checking to see if anyone else is in my situation.

I can understand your situation. Please keep calling them everyday. Ask for immigration officer over the phone, or set up on phone system for immigration officer to call you ASAP.

you can try for Ombudsman uscis service.

I am looking at the requirements to apply for citizenship. I don't see where you have to have the conditions removed first. Conditional permanent residents can't apply for citizenship if they qualify?

See this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/311-general-info-on-naturalization/

This says, "In general, if you have been a Permanent Resident for three years and have been married to and living in a valid marital union with the same U.S. citizen spouse for all three years AND you meet the other criteria (Residence and Physical Presence, Good Moral Character, Language etc), you are eligible for naturalization.

So called "conditional residents" are Permanent Residents nonetheless. "

Yeah i know its not written there, i have read it somewhere and also called USCIS to verify that and they did tell me that i have to wait for my application to be approved first.

You don't have to wait for ROC to be approved, apply for citizenship. It will force them to give you a decision on ROC.

Request an infopass and don't take no for an answer. This is ridiculous, they are WAYYY beyond processing times. Do infopass first and if that's useless, then request service based on being beyond processing times.

When did you go for your biometrics?

Hi Dohan,

I did my biometrics in 11/05/2014 and been waiting since then. After my first extension expired, i scheduled for an infopass to get another extension which i asked the IO the reason for the hold up. He did review my case and said i should be scheduled for an interview in January. He didn't give me an exact date. But hey its February and still no interview letter.

When you check your case status on USCIS, does it say ready to be scheduled for interview? If so, then it's coming because they can take 2-3 months scheduling, no joke

I can only imagine how frustrating this is. Have you tried calling USCIS and speaking to a Tier 2 officer and then a supervisor? If you yell at them and tell them that they are violating your husband's right to build a family and demand to speak to a supervisor maybe something will move. USCIS are not very bright so you have to use big words with them. Also, keep in mind the first person who speaks to you doesn't know anything they are just contractors so you need Tier 2 and supervisor level, everyone else is pretty useless.

Lol @ use big words with them

Each time i call, after providing my receipt number i always request to be transferred to a Tier 2 officer cos i know they are of no use speaking to them.
