Applying for a CR1 (through a lawyer in the US) and after getting towards the end of the process, I'm now extremely worried. :(

Recently I filled in the DS260, and didn't include any criminal convictions. After doing some reading up, it's clear I should have, as my police certificate states no live trace. This must refer to a dangerous driving conviction from circa 1999 when I was 18 (subsequently I've applied online for more details on this). This was an offence where I was banned from driving.

This is an honest mistake as obviously honesty is the only way forward. I didn't misrepresent on purpose; after my police certificate said no live trace, I presumed (obviously stupidly) this meant I was ok.

Anyway. The question is, is it possible to change the information on my application at this point?

Thanks.

I thought no live trace meant nothing showed up? I could be totally wrong.

:time:

It would be very helpful if you completed a timeline and also listed a country on your profile. Things from here on out are consulate specific and vary from country to country. Thenyour post could be directed to the proper portal for correct guidance.

You should prepare all your court/conviction documents before the visa interview:

No live trace means there are offences on record but they've been downgraded. Call NVC and see what they can do for you. They're (usually) very helpful. If you don't get anywhere with one agent - just hang up and speak to a different one.

Also, as you have No Live Trace on your certificate, you'll need to order a subject access report to show the officer at your interview. It's £10 from the ACRO website. Good luck mate!

Yep, I've just ordered the subject access report. I think I may also go to the station involved and see what else I can get there regarding everything. The more information the better.

As I say, the lawyer in charge of our case has said "Since you have already submitted the DS-260, you will have to make any corrections at the time of the interview." and "by being prepared at the interview, you show that you are not trying to hide anything."

See the FAQ page on the embassy website. Scroll down and find "I have made an error on the DS-260"

Thanks, that's very useful. Hadn't spotted that page.

The whole website just changed and those FAQ aren't as noticeable. The same question used to say do another one and bring the confirmation page of the corrected version to your interview. This unlocking it is new info to me.

The page mentioned says "contact us through our website" to unlock the DS260. I can't see anywhere on the website to contact them, and I can't get through the the London embassy at all.

Does anyone know the best way to contact to get the DS260 unlocked?

Thanks
