I have Question about tax return fill before interview or after...My wife schedule for interview on April 15th, and I have not filed tax return yet for 2015.. I am thinking to wait till April 15th to file tax return for 2015..I don't want to file i-864 again.

What should i do? should i wait till April 15th to file tax return or File it now n sent her tax return with Updated form i-864 and i-864a?

Thanks.

That is a iffy one, your technically not late since the tax deadline is April 18th, but it is very close to it. I know I filed my 2015 taxes and our interview is 3/24, I just updated my AOS (I864) form. My husband will have the updated I864 form, my 1040 tax form, W2's for 2015 and my tax transcripts and W2's for 2014, 2013 and 2012 at his interview just to be safe lol.

I answered you privately, since you wrote to me privately, but since you have posted here, I will copy my answer here:

You are not required to file your taxes until midnight on April 18th. The key thing here is how close you are to the 125% of the poverty line. If you (and/or co-sponsor) do not make very much money - you might be put into Administrative Processing until you file your taxes and prove that you are above the poverty line. Some people are taking the 2015 W-2 (sponsor and/or co-sponsor), as well as every paystub since January 1, 2016 to help support the income of the sponsor (or co-sponsor).

You should also keep in touch with people who are interviewing at your Embassy/Consulate and see if they are being asked for updated tax information.

You could also file an extension for 2015 - though, if you owe tax, you must go ahead and pay it.

My AOS was approved on April 15th, 2014. The interview was July 1, 2014. I was never asked for my 2013 tax returns. But I (I am the USC) was substantially over the 125% of the Poverty Line - so there was no question.

Good luck to you and your spouse!

Status on CEAC just changed to ISSUED!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! I've only checked it like 30 times today. lol

Underneath issue it does say essentially I'm in AP.

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. As the officer told you in the interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment.

That's weird for it to say that for Issued. But ya'll have your Visa's delivered through Loomis right or whoever.

Either way congratulations.

Thanks Dwheel for your answer, i appreciate. But can I still get help on how to organize my docs? What's AOS and registration letter??

Have no idea what you mean a registration letter. Do you mean your Interview Letter? AOS (you went through NVC right)? AOS is Affidavit of Support.

Have you go to the NVC website and look at the specific prep for Interview and look up Lagos? It was actually updated in December. Finally.

Well I will help you out and post the link.

We received our interview letter Saturday and P4 today via email. It's nice to see things moving along so nicely for everyone. It's amazing to think the hubby will be here in about 2 months and we can stop falling asleep on the phone with each other while talking every night lol Got our reservation for dinner at Au Pied De Cochon on 4/1 in Montreal so things are working out really well. :)
