I can't wait for the celebration thread to say this nightmare is finally over for you and Wes. I hope you know how valuable your experience is here for other vjers. Thanks for sharing this story. You never know who you might help. For example we are filing for AOS tomorrow and we are including the application for a EAD. I know the green card is being approved much quicker and i can think of a lot of things that filing feel could be used for instead. I am taking your advice though- about it being insurance incase we find ourselves in the same situation.

Good news on the mortgage! I was telling my husband the other day that we probably won't be able to get a mortgage until I get green card. This whole immigration process is much harder that I could have ever imagined. If only I'd known, I would have pushed harder for him to move to Canada.

If my wife was from Canada, there would be no way that Id let her immigrate into America, Id definitely immigrate there. Free medical? Come one. Plus it wouldn't be that hard to simply visit the States when needed. My wife's from Viet Nam, that's a difficult country to deal with.

I know what you are saying. But we couldnt' anticipate that it will be this complicated, didn't even know about dreaded FBI name check at the time. Plus the weather was a huge factor in this decision. Not to talk about a great job I left in Canada, and am not able to find nothing even close here.

Sigh

Senka, I've noticed you post frequently about your frustration with this process. Many times I notice you saying you wish you had stayed in Canada.

I hope you aren't wearing yourself out with these kinds of thoughts. I think they can be kind of self-destructive. You know what I mean?

One of my occasional rants is how I wish I had moved to Northern Ireland, rather than my husband moving here. He had a home we could have purchased VERY cheaply there plus there is National Health Insurance.

But we chose here because I have a son, a sister, and my parents. My husband's family are all gone save for his brother.

All of us in these relationships have the option of living in either country. In most cases its tough to know which will be best in the long run. But, we've all got what we've got at the moment, and it's best to try and not let stupid immigration ####### cloud up the issue.

I hope you won't be stuck in this process long. Most people aren't. And those of us who are...well we just try and stick around for each other.

You are absolutely right Rebecca. I should stop regretting we don't live in Canada, and try to make the most of being in the US. You are such a great example of a strong person! Thanks for your support and best of luck with receiving some great immigration news in the very near future!

Thanks.

If you had any idea what a balled-up mess of nerves I am these days (and it has little to do with immigration BTW) you might not feel that way.

But it's nice to know we have peoples well-wishes. Trust me - we could REALLY use them.....
