Hopefully, they'll get to your's today since your interview was just a few days after my wife's. We'll say Dustin's wife got her notification early!

Congrats! That's great!... My wife didn't see her letter arrive today, so hopefully it'll be there tomorrow. We need an oath date as early as possible.

Yeah, I know that would help you out a lot with your upcoming move. We hope to see the letter by the weekend, if it really was out the door when they sent the notice.

Interesting. At least in Chicago, we weren't told that. We were only told that we can correct the certificate after the ceremony, same day, for no charge. If we went back another day to correct it, it would cost $600.

Definitely keep the appointment anyway, but I just pointed out that she can still correct it later, from what I gathered at the Chicago ceremony.

I'm not certain it's true, either. Maybe it depends on whether they can regenerate the certificate on the spot? But better safe than sorry given the minimal investment in time and travel.

Interview went fine, Civic test passed. Later Officer asked my wife to mail some additional documentation as evidence of living together

- Bank Statements

- Credit card Bills

- Utility Bills

- Insurance Policies

he said everything is fine, just mail these and he will send approval later by mail.

Anybody else faced this? we already provided these kind of documents earlier.

I don't believe she was asked for the ones she printed out at interview time but it could be because she had already included some recent ones with her N-400.

Hi All,

I just had my interview today at San Jose USCIS center. And I passed !!!

Here is my experience :

My interview was at 12pm, I went inside at 11:30am, did all the security check-in procedure and waited for my name to be called. I was called in at 12:10pm.

The IO was pretty serious looking, and did not have a smile at all during the entire process.

He went over the entire n-400 process very slowly, asking each question there-in. I had an international travel after I sent my application, so he added that.

He went then for reading and writing tests, pretty easy.

Then comes Civics and History test. Here are 6 questions :

1) What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?

2) We elect a President for how many years?

3) Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?

4) What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?

5) When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?

6) Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States.

And thats that...he asked me to sign a couple of papers, my photographs and gave me a paper marked with "recommended for approval" and accompanied me to the door.

I asked him about the oath ceremony, he said they had just last week a ceremony, so most probably its going to be next month now. Well, can't wait to get it over with.

My wife received her Oath Letter today! Her Oath Ceremony will be on June 30th at 9AM... Too bad I probably won't be able to make it since I'm out of town for work until the following day. I'm not sure if I can get home a day early.

There's nothing unusual about the interviewer's request. Most marriage based applicants take all these things with them to the interview in case they are asked for. At the interview you are required to prove that you are eligible for naturalization. For marriage based applicants that means proving that you are in a bonefide legitimate relationship.

Yes, if you don't have strong evidence ie. lots of money tied up in the relationship for example: property together or life insurance with your spouse as the beneficiary then more is likely to be requested.

We had over $1million just in the two examples above so the only question my IO asked was "is your name spelled correctly for your certificate?"

I want to add my name on these tracker but I know how. anyways, I was placed in line for Oath Ceremony (online updated 6-21, I was interviewd 6-13)

Oath ceremony requests me to be there at 8:30am...how can I find out when my ceremony actually starts for guests to arrive?

My oath ceremony letter requested I be there at 9am, so I was. The organizing and handling of people went on until we finally were moved into the auditorium about 945am. You and your guests should arrive by 830am.

Well, it looks like my wife got the judicial oath on July 21st but the biggest problem is that it is addressed to her in a name she has NEVER used! It's a combination of her maiden and married name - maiden first & middle name with married last name. All of her IDs (GC, DL & SS Card) have her married name as she wants it - first, maiden last (as middle) and married last. Will they even let her in if NONE of her IDs match the name that the IO made up during her interview? He didn't even revert her name back to her maiden name so she can't even show them our marriage certificate!

Frustration with the incompetence of USCIS and their refusal to honor an already completed legal via marriage in the State of Florida name change aside, will she forever now be required to list this fake, never before seen, never before used, made up by the IO name in the future wherever she's required to 'list all former names'?

I really hope she can talk some sense into them on Tuesday at her infoPass.
