HI VisaJourney, it's me again :D

So my wife currently makes $30K, well above the USCIS' Minimum Poverty Guidelines. We are going to be filing for the AOS & EAD papers tomorrow (I've managed to finally put the whole package together today, yay!).

Right now, she's in the middle of looking for a new job. Her current job was amazing up until a few months ago when she irrevocably switched departments and now it's not so great. ):

My question is this - if during the waiting period for the AOS & EAD documents, she decides to switch to something part-time that would take her under the mandatory minimum poverty guidelines (just temporarily), would that be an overall problem for the AOS / EAD process?

It wouldn't actually affect our livelihood to the point where I / we would need "government assistance" of any kind, as we're very frugal and honestly save most of our income.

But, if it poses the risk of affecting the process in any way, we want to avoid that, obviously.

Let me know what you think. :)

Thanks!

Yes it would be an issue.

Until the green card is approved, if anything changes (beyond making more money when you were already over the guidelines) on the I-864 the petitioner should immediately inform the USCIS and send in a new I-864.
