American passport!! This is pretty surreal

For those contemplating expediting, I can't recommend it unless you have a strict deadline since my passport did not seem to get processed any faster than others who did not expedite.

Also is anybody else worried that your NC is going to come back bent? My passport package was not in good shape....

Oh boy they better not bend it! My passport package was OK.

Hi Omeka, I applied on Jan 08 after my oath and got my passport book yesterday Jan 20th! So it took 12 days total. I was told routine (standard / non-expedited) service is anywhere between 4-6 weeks. I suspect this could be a low season for passport applications hence the quick turn around or faster processing.

I received my NC this week. I was expecting the worst but it was in almost pristine condition. No ugly creases, smudges or staple marks.

Wow I'm really suprised how fast you guys get your passports. I applied 13 days ago and it still says "processing" when I check online status. I hope to get mine soon.

My N.C. had a staple hole in the top-right corner, a couple of staple 'marks' near(ish) the centre, and an imprint of scribbling on the left side (looks like a date). All of this I can attribute to the Post Office, though; I can't see any actual creases from the passport office (well, maybe one small-y that could have been from the mailing system).

NC back in pristine condition! Still waiting on passport card so I'm not sure if I should be reddening my timeline.... but doing it anyways. Pretty psyched to have this whole process completed. Now onto updating SS and GOES!

What name should be address on the personal check

Checks should be made payable to the U.S. Department of State.

When I called DOS Customer Service, they also said don't forget to write your Name and Date of Birth on the check!

Also note that the Execution Fee is paid SEPARATELY to the acceptance facility. Only the passport fees should be on the check.

As for me am doing passport book and card. So my check should be $140 for both then $25 check for execution fee?

Yes! If you don't want to expedite it (Standard Processing and Standard Delivery), you only need to write a check in the amount of $140 payable to U.S. Department of State.

Then the $25 execution fee payment will depend on the payment methods accepted by the passport acceptance facility you go to :) some accept credit cards, debit cards, or check payments.
