Hello,

I have my fiance here on a K1 visa, and we would like to get some of her family members here for the wedding from Guyana. not permanently of course, but just for the wedding. I am fairly certain I need the B-2 Visa (correct me if I am wrong). But my worry comes with the timing. We have 90 days to get married which ends at the very end of February, to which we are having our wedding mid-Feb. Will we be able to get the interview at the embassy for them in time? Possibility of expediting it? I fear the timeline of the process because ours took so long. Any help in this matter would be appreciated!

-Thank You

One option could be that you guys do a courthouse wedding when your fiance gets here and once the family members get their visa, if they do, then do a bigger thing

Also, once issued your visa will have a certain time frame during which your fiance can travel to the US. Have her family apply for their visas as soon as the K1 is approved, and then have your fiance travel once her family has had the B2 interviews. Also, you can check online current waiting times at your embassy/consulate for visa interviews. It seems they are usually within a month.

Fiancée is already here. Her 90 days ends in February.

All they can do is apply for tourist visas.

No one can tell you if they will have their interview in time. No one can tell you what the Embassy's work load looks like.

There is no expedite for wanting to attend a wedding. The US Embassy's stance is that you should have planned better. No reason to let them expedite and cut the line in front of others when they fail to plan.
