But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Am I the only one who thought it was #######? It was obviously heavily scripted as most of its ideas and scenarios came from his series years ago. I admire the guy for making a ###### load of money out of people who had never seen him before, but I found it to be old, dated, and nowhere near as funny and clever the first time around in short sketches.

I think that style of comedy lost its appeal on me when it became widely popular. It is funny but not really ground breaking as Sacha Baron-Cohen is really only doing ‘main-stream’ what other people like Chris Morris did very subversively back in the early 90’s. Some of those old Brass Eye skits are far more subversive than anything in the Borat movie.

I cannot imagine why....

pedroh, are there any good extras on it? I know there's no commentary by SBC, so that diminishes the value for me.

i think, sanita being from almaty kazakhstan, where borat lives nearby, has issues with his relationship with his sister and the negative views of the jewish population....she sees no humor in that,.,,

i will catch it later on...when the PR dies down

Your sarcasm-fu is weak today. ;)

Tell Sanita the joke isn't on Kazakhstan. The joke is on anyone who could believe that a Kazakhstan as depicted in the movie could exist.

Holy cow! A double post within a single post! My worlds are being ripped apart at the implications of this! :goofy:

Although I have not seen the movie yet, I hear that it is somewhat more of a social commentary on US attitudes, knowledge and culture than anything else.

I wouldn't say it was "#######".....cause I did find it to be funny, overall. But just not nearly as funny as all that hype made it out to be. I was expecting so much more, from all the publicity it was getting.......and compared to that build up, I was pretty disappointed.

I'd give it a 7 out of 10........

Normally I like those weird humor ones, but was not a big fan of Borat. I really wanted to like it, but never did get into it. I would give it a 5/10, and not even a good rental movie!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
