Is there a difference in the processing time if the beneficiary is minor?

I am thinking of petitioning my siblings once I am eligible to petition them. One of them is going to be 17 by that time. The other will be around 26. Is there difference in the processing time for minor and adult for the siblings category?

Thanks in advance!

hi

no, there is only one category for siblings so all go in the same category and they have the same waiting time

whether under 21, over 21, unmarried or married makes no difference

Thanks for the quick response aleful! Another question, how can I check the current processing time for this? This is F4 correct? Also, is it true that if the petition was filed while they are single, they are unable to get married until they get here? Can this be filed for both married and unmarried siblings?

hi

not true. since the process takes a long time, the sibling can marry and have children during the process

like I said before, siblings can be married or single, nothing will change if he marries, on the contrary, he can bring his spouse as his derivative

and if he has any children under 21, they also will be included as derivatives In his petition

you can check the visa bulletin every month

Yes, the current wait for siblings from the PI is 23 years.

Thanks Anh map! I kinda know that part. It's gonna be almost forever lol.

Additional question I guess, if I go to the route where I'll petition my mom first, how long will they wait once my mom petitioned them? Both of them will surely be above 21 then.
