Hi,

The applicant has to obtain the Police Certificate. You can find out where to get it at this link http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

All you do is enter the country and it will tell you exactly where to get it.

I hope this helps.

You will probably need a co sponsor. Here is the information of which one to fill out http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support/i-864-frequently-asked-questions.html

The correct term would be a joint sponsor, but yes, if you make under the poverty guidelines as per the current I-864p for your state and family size, and do not have the assets to cover the difference, then you need a qualified joint sponsor. If you need a joint sponsor then you and your joint sponsor must use the I-864.

Thank you everyone! Just another question, do I need translation of my spouse's birth certificate if it is in Hindi (Official Language of India)?

I do believe all documents must be translated.
