Hi all,

I am going through the K-1 visa process right now with my fiancé who i from Colombia. Based on the projections and timelines on the site, we think he will likely have his interview, and if all goes well his K visa, in February 2016. He is planning on entering the US in late March.

My question is this: After his visa is granted (fingers crossed), but BEFORE he enters the US, is it okay for him to travel to another country (Panama, NOT the US) for a bachelor party with his friends? I don't see why not, as travel to another country that is not the US doesn't seem like it would be an issue prior to his entry here, BUT, I have found plenty of things that have surprised me in this process so I figured I would ask anyway.

Thanks in advance!

Make sure they ( another country's immigration officer)

do not stamp on KI by accident than it will be an issue.

Sorry I've been MIA for awhile - holidays have been crazy!

I'm a little confused by this, as I was under the impression that the visa was issued in a sealed envelope that could only be opened by a US Customs officer upon US entry. Is that not the case? If it is the case, I'm confused as to how the visa could be stamped.

There is a packet of info that is sealed. The visa itself is in his passport

Ahh - definitely didn't know this! Thank you for the info!

If anyone has experience traveling to another country prior to US entry with a K visa in their passport please let me know! I'm a little nervous about this whole possibility that someone might stamp the visa... (The country of travel is Panama if that's helpful)!
