hi there,

finally got an interview at montreal mid november. i am currently in the states though. anyone know if i can complete my medical exam here in the USA, even though my interview consulate is montreal? i called a couple local places that are certified by USCIS as civil surgeon but the receptionists don't seem to have an answer for me. thanks so much in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Make certain that the civil surgeons you mention are panel physicians approved by the Montreal consulate. Contact the consulate.

On NVC's website, there are medical instructions for each US embassy as well as information about the embassies. According to information from the US embassy in Montreal, you have to use one of the specific physicians listed in that document. Link to the document:

NVC has a really good website about the visa process and every step of it, including copies of the letters from the US embassies about the medical and interview. Don't understand why there's not more people using the NVC website?!

Dec 21st 2015 - 221(g) issued at interview for updated forms


Jan 13th 2016 - Mailed our reply to the 221(g) to the US Embassy, received and CEAC updated the next morning


Jan 20th 2016 - Embassy require more in-depth info on asset for i-864


Feb 1st 2016 - Sent more in-depth info on assets as requested. Received the next morning


Feb 16th 2016 - Visa has been issued :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

April 5th 2016 - POE Newark. No questions asked.


April 14th 2016 - SSN received


May 10th 2016 - First day at my new job :dancing:

Pretty sure we've had this question asked before and the answer was no, it needs to be done by one of the approved panel physicians in Canada but certainly call or email to confirm.
