Answer honestly with how many times your spouse has been married. She's married to you, so that's one marriage for sure. Add that to previous ones.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Answer honestly with how many times your spouse has been married. She's married to you, so that's one marriage for sure. Add that to previous ones.

She has never been married before so that would be 1 for her including her marriage to me right? And, I was married once before so that would be 2 including my present marriage, right? Maybe I'm over thinking it but, the question is a bit vague. Thanks.

Posted (edited)

The question is not vague. It ask how many times has your spouse been marry? not how many time you and her/him have been marry. If she or he has only been married to you and never to anybody before. The answer will be 1

It is vague to me, that is why I asked the question. I wasn't asking if it was vague. So as to me it would be 2 then, correct?

How many times has your current spouse been married? (If it said including your present marriage then it would be clearer to me)

Posted

But you stated that your spouse was never marry before she married you

You stated you was marry once. The question is not asking about your marriage only your spouse

That is what is confusing you. Do not include any of your marriage other then your marriage to her

If she has only been married to you and never before the answer is 1

If you read my original post, Question 8, page 9 of Form N-400 it states: "How many times has your current spouse (that's me, the husband) been married" I was married once before. I was not asking about my wife. So I would put 2, correct?

Posted

Yes for you it will be two

Your original post stated spouse the person you are married too. It does not say that you are asking for yourself. A better way to word it would of been. My wife is doing the N-400. The question is how many times has her current spouse been married (you)

You will have gotten the answer right away

Again the answer for you is two

If you had read my posts that would have been clear, in fact very clear.

First question: I want to do this right and only one time. Question 8 at page of N400 asks: How many times has your spouse been married? Do I include our present marriage? Married once before. (And, I referenced the exact question and page from N400)

Second question: She has never been married before so that would be 1 for her including her marriage to me right? And, I was married once before so that would be 2 including my present marriage, right? Maybe I'm over thinking it but, the question is a bit vague. Thanks.

I did read your all your post. Your question is not clear at all. The other poster answer the same way i did thinking spouse was refering to your wife and not yourself. Anyway it does not natter now as you have the answer it is two for you

One being present married to your spouse

one being married before

1+1=2

I am going to assume you have filled out a N400 so I will chock up your ignorance to that fact. You have only been in the US for four months and you're offering advice on how to file for citizenship, how nice. You can answer questions without the commentary. When you get around to filing a N400, here's how it works, the applicant, my wife or you files the Application For Naturalization. You answer the questions. Question number 4, page 8 says: "How many times have you been married", for my wife 1 time. But, Question number 8, page says: "How many times has your current spouse been married", for me I now understand 2. I was just inquiring as to whether it included present marriage. I posted it in the Citizenship sub-forum hoping to get answer from someone who had been through the process, my bad.
