Can anyone advise the best way to set up and bring our papers to the interview. I have alot of papers, not sure it will all fit In one binder. Anyone take two binders, or have issues bringing in a zipper closed binder into the consulate? Im thinking of putting documents in one, and relationship proof in a second binder. Everything is removed from envelopes and put into clear plastic folders. Is this acceptable for to get through security?

Is there also a specific set up order they will ask for documents?

I need advise. I have my medical on the 22nd of October and interview on the 28th, so I depart on the 21st. Im traveling to Montreal for this, hotels and flight are booked. Huge Issue just arose with my paperwork from my fiance is now STUCK in customs, all his documents i need! and may not make it here by my departure date, between weekends and holiday on Monday. Ive spoke to canada post they dont know when it will arrive but they feel it will be cutting it close if not late.

So if I need to reschedule the interview and medical how far in advance?

Id like to possible just go, and have my medical and hope my papers arrive, buying me another week till interview, since it on the 28th...and have my mother overnight the paperwork to me by fedex to my hotel..its a risk..

I hate to reschedule and my papers show up a day or two before I depart..

any advice ? How long in advance do I need to reschedule the interview.?

It was supposed to be sent with a faster route, but im not the one who mailed it, it was sent securly, but its held up in canada customs. So its in hindsite now. I just looking more for advice on when is the latest I can hold off to rebook an interview, I case my papers arrive. Im going to go ahead and go even if my papers are not here when I depart, hoping they will arrive. But id like to rebook visa interview one day prior to interview only if necessary.

I guess ill call the consulate tomorrow and ask.

My fiancee, just had her interview on Sept. 29th. She made a Cover letter and put everything in the same order as the cover letter (which was the same order that the embassy asked for.) She used a plastic accordion folder. She put all the poof in a separate folder. When she got there and they asked her for the required documents she handed them the folder and it was handed back to her. They said it was easier if she just handed them the different documents as he asked for them one by one. So I dont think it matter what they are in as long as you know what is where and have everything on hand.

Actually you need to place it in the best order for you. they do not take the file from you but request that you hand the documents. they will ask for specific items and you find it and hand it over. I had my interview on October 8th and it was nothing like I expected.

??? Nothing like you expected? What happened or didn't happen if you don't mind...unless it's getting way off track of the thread. We're organizing our binder right now with previously submitted documents in the back and newly required documents in the front according to Embassy checklist order and then ongoing proof of relationship.
