We got a RFE email/text today for our I-485 :crying:

I wished they actually told us what they needed so we could prepare the documents instead of waiting for the actual letter..

K1 Visa Process:

12/6/14 - I129F petition sent to the USCIS lockbox via USPS Priority mail / 12/10/14 - Petition received @ USCIS lockbox / 12/15/14 - NOA1 Email and text message received

12/22/14 - NOA1 hard copy received / 1/2/15 - NOA2 Email received / 1/13/15 - NOA2 hard copy received

1/26/15 - NVC Mailed to embassy / 1/29/15 - Embassy received package / 2/25/15 - packet 3 received

2/26/15 - packet 3 mailed via POS Express / 3/10/15 - packet 4 received / 3/23/15 - Medical Exam

4/7/15 - Interview Date - APPROVED! :joy:/ 4/30/15 - POE @ LAX / 5/5/15 - Applied for SSN card

10/05 usps mail delivered

10/14 checks cashed

10/19 got 3 NOA for 485, 131 and 765 under my name and the NOA for 130 under my husband's name. It says in all the notices that our applications were received on 10/6 and the notice date is 10/13.

10/23 received biometric appointment for 11/5 at USCIS Chatsworth, CA

10/28 I tried walk in and they let me do biometrics at uscis Chatsworth, CA ☺..

I'm kinda nervous though because some of my fingers are deformed and the man who did my fingerprints was having a hard time getting the fingerprints right. Just praying that they go through ok and that I don't have to go back again. ?

10/08/2015: AOS packet sent to USCIS (Chicago lockbox) via USPS Priority mail (They received it 10/10/15).

10/16/2015: Text/eEmails received from USCIS with receipt number. We received 3.

10/22/2015: Received hard copies of NOA's for I-131, I-765, & I-485.

11/01/2015: Got NOA for biometrics appt (for 11/12/15).

11/03/2015: Did WALK IN biometrics appt - took 15 mins. Person taking said work permit should be in mail in less than 4 wks.

12/09/2015: Got email/text notification for INTERVIEW date.

12/28/2015: Got email/text notification EAD card has been mailed.

12/31/2015: Received EAD/AP card.

01/11/2016: INTERVIEW (in Los Angeles office).

01/11/2016: Case in in "CONTINUANCE". Awaiting approval. (Feels like AP).

06/27/2016: I-485 APPROVED - (FINALLY!!!) / 264 DAYS (8 MONTHS 20 DAYS)

07/01/2016: GREEN CARD RECEIVED

i know i'm just worried it will delay by EAD/AP now which i've seen mixed posts about when you get a RFE :( Hopefully i can still get it before chinese new years so i can go back to see family

I know this may sounds like a silly question, but will doing a walk in biometrics appointment help move the case along faster?

This gets asked just about every month in the monthly threads and it doesn't seem to make significant difference since most people only go a couple days before their appointment. But i guess any little thing could move it along just slightly faster. :)

Romet I've checked other months threads and for some people it has and for other it hasn't. I think it also depends on the kind of visa you had before, location and if you get any RFE .. We'll see what happens in my case

i'll definitely keep everyone updated. I'm suspecting it's super minor too. I think it's because my printer was starting to run out of ink and the last couple pages the bottom bar code may have been too light for them to scan. So i'm suspecting i need to resubmit the I-485 form. we'll see :(

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Request for Initial Evidence Was Mailed

On October 29, 2015, we mailed a request for initial evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxx. The request for evidence explains what we need from you. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the request for evidence. If you do not receive your request for evidence by November 28, 2015, please go towww.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
