06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I think it depends on your Senator and how responsive their staff is.

It took about a week for each of the Senators offices that I contacted to initiate a congressional inquiry..and then was advised it could take 4-6 weeks to get a response.

I emailed and faxed twice a week updating them on my case status and the lack of results I was getting because I wanted to stay fresh in their minds until I got a result.

Good luck

We've also asked our Senator for help with our case, since we've been at NVC for seven months now and stuck at supervisor review for 105 days or something, we've lost track of how long...

We emailed our Senator's office on September 15th, we haven't heard anything from them but when I called NVC September 23rd, they said that they had received a Senator request on the 18th and that our case had been moved to the Senator review team, if there is such a thing. So even though you haven't heard anything from your Senator, it doesn't mean they're not following up on your request. Have you called NVC and asked them about our case and who's handling it? I've heard from others here on VJ that said that they didn't hear from their Senator until the Senator's office could give an update on their case.

And Senator requests definitely seems to help. Like I said, we were stuck on supervisor review for +100 days with no one even looking at our case, three business days after our Senator made his request, our case got some movement. And I know others here who were also stuck and were able to move past NVC and USCIS after their Senator got involved, so don't loose hope.

Thanks for your advised, but my case is stuck at local USCIS office not at NVC level, we filed our case on 24th of December 2014, its been more then 9 months not approved yet, we filed at Vermont and they transferred our petition to Memphis TN on 5th of May, therefore my wife made info pass appointment at Memphis office and they said they need another 5 months to review our case and 5 months is over on Oct 5 i don't understand why 5 months for local office and 5 months at Vermont service center, its really upsetting we are at level 1 till now have no idea how long then NVC will take very sad even we don't know when our I130 will get approved.

I know how frustrating it is being stuck dealing with this ridiculous immigration process. Hopefully you'll have a smoother ride when you hit NVC.

The Senator request will help. It works the same at USCIS as it does at NVC. Have you tried calling your USCIS office or do an online request to see if your Senator have actually done a formal request to USCIS?

the only other thing you need to do is sue USCIS to force them to make a decision on the case and this your options if nothing happen and you need to do it (It is not really a lawsuit per se. A WOM is a court decision demanding that the USCIS make a decision in your case.

Thanks

we will see what we can do this will be our last last option if its possible then.
