hi

count very well because you can only file 90 days before it expires, if you file too early you will be denied

yes, the NOA 1 letter serves as a 1 year extension of the GC, take the letter with you and your GC

Just make sure they don't get your package before your window opens. If they do, it will be returned.

As for getting back in the country, you should get the extension letter a couple of weeks after they receive your package, so that should be fine. Just make sure you keep that letter with you as well as your GC.

Cheers!

It really doesn't make a difference, so just take your time. You'll be fine even if you file 2 weeks before your GC expires. You can always travel with the extension letter, thousands of people do it every day. And it doesn't help you with naturalization, as the 3(5) years start when you get your first conditional GC.

I don't quite understand why so many people want to file on the earliest possible day. If you want to file early, just mail the application a little under 90 days before your GC expires and you have nothing to worry about.
