My fiance gave me permission to share her experience because she wants to know if any of you have had or know someone who experienced this. When doing her exam, the doctor noticed a scar on her wrist. She was honest and told the truth that about 17 years ago, she attempted to slice her wrist because of something that happened to her. The doctor told her it would not be a problem but she had to report back to SLEC on 10/22. We were devastated because her interview was scheduled for 10/8. I consulted with a veteran on this forum and he told she will be fine and we will get our visa if all else goes ok. I believe that but have any of you heard of a similar situation or have gone through this yourself? Thanks for your responses.

If she had a annulment or abortion or admitted prior drug use or admitted to suicide then she will have to do a Secondary Medical called a Psychology Evaluation

Now of days it usually does not present a problem, and I have not seen any get denied in the last few years after doing evaluation.

I dont think it will cause her to be denied at all, if everything else is good she will get the visa... but they might want to send her for a phsyquiatric evaluation, does she have any paperwork stating any treatment for her depression or something related to that wound?

I love you Charles forever!!

During my wife's medical the doctor asked how she was feeling. She replied, "a little nervous". That was all that was needed for the doctor to send her for a secondary medical with a psychiatrist. I don't know if this story helps, but as you can see, it doesn't take much for the doctors to recommend a psychiatric evaluation.

She has to complete a psychological evaluation because she cut her wrist, stand procedure. All should be fine, but it has to be done.

Ok, seems like after a month then from her medical. I asked coz I have a scar on my wrist too and I'm actually planning to have a tattoo to cover it up.

Be surprised if a tat will totally hide the scar.

Don't waste your money if your getting a tattoo just to cover the scare. USEM/psychology evaluation is not that hard to pass with scares as long as they are not recent and you don't have any tendencies to repeat.

It was 8 years ago, I already have big tattoo on my back, so I don't mind getting one on my wrist, I've just been wearing watch or something to hide the scar, the reason too I wanted to cover it up bc I don't like people to see it and ask me why? It was selfish thing to do I nearly lost my life for this one man. Anyways, I want to cover it up coz I'm going to be sharing my life soon with my fiance's family and I don't mind them asking me and explain, it's just that I don't want to go back to my past and remember how it was.
