Hi, our petition has been approved and sent to NVC. My fiance already received a notification that they will sent it to Philippine Embassy so they can process it. That was almost 3 weeks ago How long should I wait before I receive the notification from Phil Embassy so I can start applying for K1 Visa? Thanks in advance.

*** Thread moved from Introducing Our Members forum to the Philippines regional subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Your burning the candle. Once it is approved and sent to NVC you need to be calling NVC to get your MNL#. After which you can pay you interview fee and schedule your interview, medical and CFO. Times a wasting.

Click on the link at the twisting arrow and there is a step by step guide for everything you need to do now.

Return and ask any questions you need answered.

Don't wait for the NVC. Instead:

1. Call the NVC and get your MNL case number.

2. Pay the visa application fee.

3. Schedule an interview.

4. Complete your medical.

Hi! Does this also work for IR1/CR1 visa? We just got the hardcopy of our NOA 2 on the 21st and I'm not sure what the next step is... :)

Spousal visas work differently. Feel free to start a thread and ask your question.

Once you have your MNL # it is ROCK n ROLL time!! There is NOTHING you need to wait for from the embassy, everything is online.

You can follow Greenbaum's link or my link below for details.

You don't need to do anything, the embassy will automatically extend the petition. All is good. ;)

Ours took 17days from NVC to USEM. just check your case number at ceac.state.gov if it says READY, it means USEM has your case (physical papers)..

USEM will inform the petitioner or the beneficiary through email or snail mail once you are eligible to be interview..

Because it took a long time for our case to reach USEM, i called them several times. Since I already scheduled the interview before status was READY, they told me you can still show up to the interview date but it is up to the Consular officer if they will interview you or will turn you down.

AOS Journey

1/31/16 - Got married

2/24/16 - AOS, EAD, AP packet sent

2/29/16 - Received Date

3/03/16 - Received text and email notification

3/04/16 - Check cashed

3/07/16 - I-797 hardcopy received

3/19/16 - Biometric scheduled received by mail

4/06/16 - I-485 online status changed to Ready to be Scheduled for Interview

4/15/16 - I-485 online status changed to INTERVIEW SCHEDULED

4/17/16 - Interview Notice hardcopy received

4/28/16 - AP & EAD approval date

5/02/16 - AP approval letter received

5/05/16 - EAD card received

5/17/16 - AOS interview

5/23/16 - Online status changed to CASE APPROVE dated 5/18/16

5/23/16 - Received AOS approval letter in the mail

5/23/16 - Online status changed to CARD WAS MAILED TO ME

5/24/16 - Card was picked-up by USPS (online status)

5/26/16 - Green Card on Hand!!! :goofy:

I never received anything from the USEM..so I took matters on my own hands :D followed all your advise and now I got my Visa! Yehey! :)

Just one more question though, do I need a "red ribbon" copy of my Birth Cert and Cert of non-marriage as a requirement before I can marry in the US?

thanks!

No. Your PSA/NSO birth certificate is all you need in that area, no red ribbon. USA does not know what a CENOMAR is ;)

Requirements vary by state, but Red Ribbon and CENOMAR are not on the list.
